The College of Engineering is excited to invite Cascia Hall High School to participate
in our annual Open House! Since 1912, the students of the University of Oklahoma
have had the pleasure of extending an invitation to area high school students to
participate in the Engineering Open House, the oldest and most successful event on
the University of Oklahoma campus. High school students from across the state
come to Norman each year to sample what the OU Engineering programs have to
offer. Academic testing and engineering design competitions are the highlights of
this event. These competitions are designed to allow students to display their
knowledge of math, science, and logic areas. The annual Engineering Open House
allows tomorrow’s engineers and scientists to get started today.

Oklahoma JCI Senate Club
The Oklahoma Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Club joins the United
States JCI organization in presenting scholarships to selected high school seniors.
Below you will find a link to the application forms and information. These
scholarships will be presented in the spring of 2015.
The application should be completed in its entirety and postmarked on or before
January 9, 2015. Each application will be screened based on appearance,
neatness, content, scholastic abilities, extracurricular activities, financial need, and
correctly following the directions.
The top two (2) applications from Oklahoma will be submitted for national judging.
If you have questions regarding the Oklahoma Junior Chamber (Jaycees), the

2015 Summer Scholars Program Date: June 27 – July 11, 2015
Summer Scholars is a two-week program for talented rising high school juniors and seniors
who are interested in experiencing a taste of college life. Summer Scholars introduces
students to college-level academics in fields ranging from the liberal arts to the sciences and
business. Summer Scholars courses are rigorous and small in size, and the campus
experience serves as an excellent introduction to the life of a college student.

2015 Leadership Seminars Program Date: July 18 – July 29, 2015
Leadership Seminars is a 10-day, all expenses paid program for advanced students who
wish to hone their critical thinking and expressive skills in the company of dynamic peers.
Students will engage in lively discussions on issues of global concern under the tutelage of
Notre Dame faculty. The three seminars offered are American Arts, Popular Culture and
Social Change; Global Issues: Towards a Just Peace; and Science, Ethics and
Responsibility.

2015 Study Abroad - Rome, Italy (New for 2015!) Program Date: June 7 – June
20, 2015.
This 12-day program will immerse students in the history and culture of the Eternal City,
with a focus on the built environment. Scholars representing a range of fields, from art
history to anthropology, will be on hand to guide students in their exploration of this
fascinating city. The new Notre Dame Center in Rome will serve as the home for lectures
and discussions, while the city itself, with its monuments, museums and historic
neighborhoods will serve as the course’s true classroom.

The U.S. Department of State Announces
Scholarships for American High School
Students to Study Abroad
The National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) offers merit-based scholarships
to study one of seven critical foreign languages: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Hindi, Korean,
Persian (Tajiki), Russian and Turkish. The NSLI-Y program is designed to immerse participants
in the cultural life of the host country, provide formal and informal language practice, and spark
a lifetime interest in foreign languages and cultures. The application deadline for summer 2015
and academic year 2015-2016 programs is October 30, 2014. Visit www.nsliforyouth.org for

The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Abroad Program offers merit-based
scholarships to spend an academic year in countries that may include Bosnia & Herzegovina,
Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mali, Morocco, Oman, Philippines, South
Africa, Thailand, Tunisia, and Turkey. This program increases understanding between people in
the United States and people in countries with significant Muslim populations. Students live
with host families, attend local high schools, do community service, and complete a capstone

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program (CBYX) offers merit-based scholarships to
spend an academic year in Germany. The program was established in 1983 to celebrate
German-American friendship based on common values of democracy. Students live with host

The Joe Foss Institute is pleased to announce a $5,000 video scholarship contest, with $2,500 and $1,000 awards for the

Ayn Rand's novels are inspiring and intellectually challenging. But they can also be financially rewarding for high school and
college students. The Ayn Rand Institute sponsors annual essay contests that offer 600 prizes and $100,000 in prize money

Horatio Alger Oklahoma Scholarship Program
Deadline: October 25, 2014
The Horatio Alger Oklahoma Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students in the State of Oklahoma who
have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education. 8,
$7,000 Scholarship Awarded funded through the generosity of the Horatio Alger Association.
Eligibility: Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in Oklahoma; be progressing normally toward graduation in
spring/summer of 2015 with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation. Exhibit
a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in
the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution).
Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required). Be involved in co-curricular
and community service activities. Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity. Maintain a minimum grade
point average (GPA) of 2.0. Be a resident of the State of Oklahoma; and Be a United States citizen.

Coca-Coca Scholars Foundation Scholarship

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarshipis an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors
each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant
impact on their schools and communities. With the 26th class in 2014, the Foundation has provided over 5,400 Coca-Cola
Scholars with more than $54 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this
$20,000 scholarship.

Ron Brown Scholar Program
Deadlines: November 1, 2014 & January 9, 2015
Each year, a minimum of ten students will be designated Ron Brown Scholars and will receive $10,000 annually for four
years, for a total of $40,000. The recipients may use the renewable scholarships to attend an accredited four-year college or
university of their choice within the United States. Ron Brown Scholarships are not limited to any specific field or career
objective and may be used to pursue any academic discipline. More than 250 students have been designated as Ron Brown
Scholars since the inception of the Program.
Eligibility: The Ron Brown Scholar Program seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant
contributions to society. Applicants must excel academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate in
community service activities and demonstrate financial need. The applicant must be a US citizen or hold a permanent

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

If you've made a difference by volunteering in your community over the past year, you could win $1,000 and a fabulous trip
to Washington, D.C., by applying for a Prudential Spirit of Community Award! Even more importantly, you could win
recognition that might inspire other young people to follow your example. These prestigious awards, sponsored by
Prudential Financial and the National Association of Secondary School Principals, have honored tens of thousands of middle
level and high school students over the past 18 years solely for their volunteer work.
Eligibility: Any young person who: is in grades 5-12 as of November 4,is a legal resident of any U.S. state or Washington,
D.C., has engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred at least partly during the 12 months prior to the date of application,

The Hagan Scholarship Foundation
Deadline: November 15, 2014
The Purpose of the Hagan Scholarship is to provide each scholarship recipient with the opportunity to obtain a four year
college education and graduate debt free. The Hagan Scholarships are for high achieving and self-motivated students in
need of financial assistance in order to attend college. These students will graduate from a public high school located in an
eligible state and in a county having fewer than 50,000 residents. The Free Workshops and Schwab Investment Account are
integral parts of the Scholarship. The average value of a four year Hagan Scholarship is about $24,000.
Eligibility: Must be a resident of an Eligible State. Must have attended as a junior and senior an Eligible High School. Must
be a student in the 2015 high school graduating class. Must have achieved a high school GPA of 3.50 or higher. Must have
scored 23 or higher on the ACT (Composite Score); or, must have scored 1110 on the SAT (Reading and Math). Must enroll in
a four year college the first semester after high school. Must work 240 hours in the twelve months prior to start of college.
Must complete the FAFSA in 2014 using 2013 Tax Return Information. Must provide a complete copy of the FAFSA Student
Aid Report (5 or 6 pages.)FAFSA Expected Family Contribution (EFC) must be less than $7,500. Must apply for eligible Federal
and State grants. Must not have been convicted of a felony.

Joe Foss Institute - "Adopt a Veteran" Essay Contest
Deadline: November 16, 2014
Celebrate the life of our Veterans by getting to know one of our service men and women. Focus your essay on your
experience. This contest is open to U.S. citizens of all national backgrounds that are currently studying in the United Sates or
in an American military school out of country. Eligible contestants must be high school (9th-12th) students in public, private,
alternative, parochial school, or a home study program. Previous first place JFI scholarship recipients are not eligible. Recent
high-school graduates are eligible to participate as long as the "deadline" of the current contest falls within 12 months after
graduation. The three winners will receive $5,000, $2,500, and $1,000 scholarships to the accredited U.S. college or
university of their choices. The winners will be notified and their names posted our website

Women in Aviation Scholarships

Scholarship awards are a major benefit of membership in Women in Aviation, International. In the past 25 years WAI has
disbursed millions of dollars to its members to help them get ahead and advance into the aviation and aerospace careers
they have always dreamed about. There is an award for nearly everyone here, from the college student to the woman or
man returning to the workforce, from managers and dispatchers to pilots, engineers, technicians and mechanics.

Every year, Boston University welcomes about 20 outstanding students to the Trustee Scholars Program. Many of our
current Scholars had perfect 4.0 grade point averages in high school and typically ranked in the top 5–10% of their class.
In addition to exceptional academic credentials, Trustee Scholars are intellectually and creatively adventurous and
demonstrate viewpoints, experiences or achievements beyond the usual. They are, in other words, not just top students, but
extraordinary people. At BU, scholars also become part of a unique campus community that offers many intellectual,
cultural, and social opportunities. While the competition is especially rigorous, the benefits are considerable. A Trustee
Scholarship covers full undergraduate tuition plus the University orientation and mandatory undergraduate student fees
and is renewable for four years if certain criteria are met.

OCCC ACT NOW Scholarship
Deadline: Various
The ACT NOW scholarship is offered as an automatic merit-based tuition waiver program for the 2013 graduating class of
high school students. The waiver amounts are based on the student's composite score on the national ACT. Students who
score a 21 are eligible for a $500 tuition waiver. Scores of 22 - 23 receive a $750 waiver and scores of 24-26 will receive a
$1000 waiver. Students with exceptional scores a 27 or higher will receive a $1500 waiver. All waivers are per semester;
freshman year only.

McNair Scholars Program

Scholarship program is designed to prepare students for careers as graduate students, professors or professional
researchers. Must be full time student, with 42 hours or more completed, 3.0 GPA & first generation college student or
student from an underrepresented ethnic group.

Varsity Tutors Scholarship
Deadline: Monthly
Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a
monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries.
The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is
subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship.
