He also rushed for 60 yards on eight carries in leading
the Yellow Jackets to a win in the battle of two unbeaten teams. It’s the first time this fall he’s been recognized
with this award.

NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Derrick Mann, Assumption (Sr., DL, Sharon, Mass.) - In
a 52-0 win over Pace, Mann piled up seven total tackles
with three sacks for 14 yards, four tackles for loss for
17 yards, and two fumble recoveries, including one returned 26 yards for a touchdown. This marked the first
career touchdown for the preseason All-American selection.

Shaquan Hall, Southern Connecticut (Fr., WR, Newark,
N.J.) - Hall made an impact with 161 all-purpose yards
(31 receiving, 130 return) and one touchdown on the
afternoon against New Haven. He caught a touchdown
pass, and was instrumental in setting up the Owls’ other
score as well.

NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE HONOR ROLL - WEEK SIX
Evan Graham, American International (Sr., WR, Springfield, Mass.) - Graham hauled in six catches
for 125 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 20.8 yards-per-catch in a win over Saint Anselm.
Jerrod Shelby, American International (So., LB, Brockton, Mass.) - Shelby registered a team-high
14 tackles, eight solo, six assisted, in a win over Saint Anselm. He also broke up two passes.
Matt Heriveaux, Assumption (Sr., RB, Everett, Mass.) - In a shutout win over Pace, Heriveaux led
the Hounds with a 121-yard effort on 15 carries.
Danny Guadagnoli, Bentley (Gr., QB, Framingham, Mass.) - Guadagnoli became the fourth player
in Bentley history to surpass 8,000 yards in career total offense during Bentley’s 28-25 loss to Merrimack, a game in which he threw for 308 yards and two touchdowns (11, 61 yards).
Nick McCarthy, Bentley (Sr., S, Winthrop, Mass.) - McCarthy matched his career-best with 12 tackles and also recorded a forced fumble and a pass break-up during the Falcons’ 28-25 loss to Merrimack. Nine of his stops were unassisted, the most by a Bentley player this season.
Dan Belfiore, LIU Post (R-Sr., DL, Glen Cove, N.Y.) - Belfiore made six tackles (two TFL), forced a
fumble, and recovered two fumbles in a 28-25 come-from-behind win over Stonehill.
Steven Laurino, LIU Post (R-Sr., QB, Boise, Idaho) - Laurino completed 24-of-41 passes for 216 yards
and three touchdowns in a 28-25 come-from-behind win over Stonehill, and also ran for a gamehigh 90 yards and a score.
Sean Binckes, LIU Post (Jr., TE, Brooklyn, N.Y.) - Binckes caught 11 balls for a team-high 103 yards
and a touchdown in a 28-25 come-from-behind win over Stonehill.
Luke Bakanowsky, Merrimack (Sr., QB, Ashburnham, Mass.) - Bakanowsky finished with two touchdowns and 346 yards passing while completing 32-of-55 passes to lead Merrimack to a 28-25 win.
Tyler Condit, New Haven (Jr., LB, Caldwell, N.J.) - Condit led the New Haven defense in a 27-14
victory over So. Connecticut, as he registered 12 tackles. He had six solo stops and half a tacklefor-loss.
Ty Headen, New Haven (Jr., WR, Newark, N.J.) - Headen helped lead the Chargers to a 27-14 victory over So. Connecticut as he caught 11 balls for 128 yards and the game-winning touchdown.
Justin Bernard, Saint Anselm (Sr., WR, Cambridge, Mass.) - Bernard caught 11 passes for 119 yards
in a 48-26 loss to American Int’l on Saturday.
Yianni Gavalas, Saint Anselm (So., QB, Manhasset, N.Y.) - Gavalas went 37 of 53 for 355 yards and a
touchdown in Saturday’s 48-26 loss to American Int’l. He also rushed 11 times for two more scores.
NE-10 CHAMPIONSHIP
Shane Grayson, Saint Anselm (Jr., K, Ormond Beach, Fla.) - Grayson was a perfect 2-for-2 on field
goal tries, including a 41-yarder that matched his career long, which is the sixth longest kick in
program history. He also punted four times for a 40.0 average that included a long of 52 yards.
Zach Hayes, Saint Anselm (Sr., LB, Chelmsford, Mass.) - Hayes racked up a career-high 14 tackles,
including eight solo stops and 0.5 for a loss, in Saturday’s 48-26 loss to American Int’l.

Brian Wilcox, Southern Connecticut (Sr., LB, Jericho, Vt.) - Wilcox recorded 13 tackles, a team-high,
against New Haven.
Ryan Doherty, Stonehill (So., LB, Methuen, Mass.) - Doherty led the Skyhawks defensive effort at
LIU Post on Saturday with a career-high 13 tackles (six solo).

Nate Robitaille, Stonehill (Sr., WR, Attleboro, Mass.) - Robitaille led the Skyhawks with a seasonhigh 201 all-purpose yards and broke the program’s career record with his 23rd touchdown reception at LIU Post on Saturday. He had a season-high nine catches for a season-best 127 yards and the
touchdown, to go with 40 yards on four punt returns and 34 yards on two kickoff returns.
2014 NORTHEAST-10 FOOTBALL - WEEKLY INFORMATION
AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL: The Yellow Jackets defeated Saint Anselm in a battle of unbeaten NE-10 teams, 48-26.
Senior quarterback Kevin Arduino (Cornwall, N.Y.) sparked the American Int’l offense, completing 21-of-32 passes
for 346 yards and four touchdowns. Three of those TDs came in the first half where the Jackets put up 35 points.
Senior wide out Evan Graham (Springfield, Mass.) finished with six receptions,125 yards and two scores. Classmate
Stephan Davis (Selden, N.Y.) caught eight passes for 98 yards and a score, while senior running back Terrell Williams (Hempstead, N.Y.) returned to form, netting 73 yards and two touchdowns. Senior place kicker Jared Hulsey
(Springfield, Mass.) has gotten in a groove, hitting all six of point after attempts and knocking in two field goals, one
a 39 yarder. The defense gave up the most it has all year, but did a great job keeping Saint Anselm out of the end
zone. Jerrod Shelby (Brockton, Mass.) led the way with 14 tackles, eight of the solo. Junior safety Daquan Holmes
(Troy, N.Y.) recorded his league leading seventh interception and moved to sole possession of second in the country.
American Int’l hosts New Haven next weekend at 1 p.m.
ASSUMPTION: Assumption improved to 3-3 overall and 3-2 in the Northeast-10 with a 52-0 home shutout of Pace
on Friday night. The shutout was the team’s first at home since 2010 and the 52 points were the most scored by the
Hounds in a shutout victory. As a team, Assumption held a 525-163 edge in yards of total offense, including a 370-22
edge on the ground. Leading the rushing attack was senior Matt Heriveaux (Everett, Mass.) with a 121-yard effort,
along with a pair of touchdown runs by junior James Ward (New Haven, Conn.). Senior De’Ontray Johnson (San
Diego, Calif.) was explosive as well, averaging 15.8 yards per rush to finish with 79 yards on just five carries. Junior
quarterback Trevor Vasey (Cumberland, R.I.) threw for three touchdowns as he finished with 155 yards passing. On
defense, senior Derrick Mann (Sharon, Mass.) dominated the Setters with three sacks for 14 yards, four tackles for
loss for 17 yards and two fumble recoveries, including his first career touchdown as he took one fumble recovery
back 26 yards for the score. Overall, freshman Chris Noesges (Freehold, N.J.) led the team in total tackles with nine,
along with 1.5 tackles for loss. Assumption is back in action on Saturday, October 18th as the Hounds travel to Merrimack for a 1 p.m. start. Merrimack holds a 14-3 edge in the all-time series, while Assumption holds a 7-0 road
record in Northeast-10 regular-season games under second-year head coach Bob Chesney.
BENTLEY: A frustrating string of losses continued with Bentley dropping a 28-25 decision to Merrimack on Saturday. It was the third straight three-point loss for the Falcons, who had lost their previous two games by seven and
four. Graduate student Danny Guadagnoli (Framingham, Mass.), who threw his 52nd and 53rd career TD passes,
surpassed 7,500 yards in career passing yards and became the fourth player in program history to amass over 8,000
yards in total offense. Senior Jeff Hill (Mansfield, Mass.) caught his 31st career TD pass and a two-point conversion
to move pass Ed Mazzuchelli ‘96 into seventh on Bentley’s all-time scoring list with 188 points. He’s 71 yards away
from 3,000 career receiving yards, a milestone only four active Division II players have achieved. Sophomore Sam
McDonald (Norfolk, Mass.) had his seventh career interception and is currently fifth amongst current Division II
players in interceptions per game (0.44). Bentley had a total of three interceptions against Merrimack, including two
by senior corner Brad Keirstead (Waltham, Mass.) and is now tied for eighth in Division II with 11. Bentley is also
eighth in fewest penalties and penalty yards, and 17th in time of possession. The Falcons will look to get back on the
winning track Saturday when they play at So. Connecticut.
LIU POST: On Saturday, LIU Post got some late-game heroics again, as it rallied to defeat Stonehill, 28-25, at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville, N.Y. Redshirt senior quarterback Steven Laurino found redshirt
sophomore wide receiver Shane Hubbard on a two-yard jump ball in the end zone for the game-winning touchdown. Laurino finished 24-of-41 passing for 216 yards and three touchdowns. He also scampered for a team-high
90 yards and a score. Junior tight end Sean Binckes hauled in 11 catches for a team-leading 103 yards and a TD.
Meanwhile, Hubbard collected 42 yards receiving and two touchdowns on four catches. Defensively, redshirt senior
linebacker Anthony Brunetti led all Pioneers with 12 tackles. Redshirt junior inebacker Brandon Cheney finished
with 10 tackles. Redshirt senior defensive lineman Dan Belfiore, who recovered two fumbles and stripped a fumble
as well, and senior defensive back Roger Hamilton totaled six tackles apiece. Junior defensive back Jhaleel Oswald
and redshirt sophomore defensive back Justin Ortiz (three TFL) both had five tackles. LIU Post is back in action Saturday (Oct. 18), when it hosts Saint Anselm in a Northeast-10 Conference tilt on Homecoming at Bethpage Federal
Credit Union Stadium. The opening kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
MERRIMACK: Leading by three with less than two minutes to play, Merrimack put the game in the hands of its
defense and benefitted from doing so, as first-year sophomore Devonte Jones (Baltimore, Md.) picked off Bentley
quarterback Dan Guadagnoli for his third interception of the season, propelling the Warriors to a wild 28-25 road
win over the Falcons on a rainy Saturday in Waltham. Merrimack rallied from a 17-14 deficit with a pair of touchdowns before holding off the Falcons on the last drive of the game. Senior Luke Bakanowsky (Ashburnham, Mass.)
finished with two touchdowns and 352 yards passing, while junior Jon Hooper (Pembroke, Mass.) led the defense
with nine tackles (three solo). Now at 3-3 overall and 3-2 in league play, Merrimack returns to North Andover for
its annual Homecoming Weekend contest next Saturday (Oct. 18) against Assumption. Kickoff from Martone-Mejail
Field is set for 1 p.m.
2014 NORTHEAST-10 FOOTBALL - WEEKLY INFORMATION
NEW HAVEN: New Haven improved to 3-3 overall and 3-2 in the NE-10 on Saturday with a 27-14 victory over Southern Connecticut State in the annual battle for the Elm City Trophy. The Chargers hold on to the trophy for the fifth
consecutive season and now own an 18-6-1 lead in the all-time series which dates back to 1981. Quarterback Joey
Bradley (Issaquah, Wash.) was 22-of-38 for 256 yards and three touchdowns. His primary target was Ty Headen
(Newark, N.J.), who made 11 grabs for 128 yards and a score. Courtney Moshood (Miami, Fla.) and Jonathan Badyna
(Brooklyn, N.Y.) also reeled in touchdown receptions, and Henry Adegunle (Rockaway, N.Y.) had four catches for
29 yards. On the ground, Trevor Officer (Monroe, N.Y.) had 23 carries for 118 yards and a 20-yard touchdown run.
Defensively, linebackers Tyler Condit (Caldwell, N.J.) and Matt Zakrzewski (Traverse City, Mich.) tallied 12 tackles
apiece, and Jacob Weaver (Wilmington, Del.) added eight stops. The Chargers forced three turnovers on the day,
as Rodney Lanham (Bridgeport, Conn.) came away with his second interception of the fall. The Chargers’ defense
stopped Southern Connecticut State on all three of its fourth-down attempts and limited the Owls to a 4-for-12 day
on third down. New Haven return to the gridiron on Saturday when it travels to Springfield for another NE-10 clash
with American International at 1 p.m.
PACE: The Setters fell to the Assumption Greyhounds on Friday night by a score of 52-0. Junior receiver Kyle Johnson
(Elmont, N.Y.) finished with six receptions for 53 yards, while Corey Reeder (Browns Mills, N.J.) totaled five catches
for 28 yards. David Grant (West Orange, N.J.), Jamir Gee (Paterson, N.J.) and Joe Roman (Staten
SAINT ANSELM: Saint Anselm (5-1, 4-1) lost a 48-26 decision at to American Int’l on Saturday to snap its five-game
winning streak. The Hawks totaled 410 yards of total offense, but were held under 100 yards rushing for just the
second time this season. They were also 4 of 6 in fourth down conversions, but went just 3 of 16 on third down. The
Yellow Jackets used a balance attack to put up 562 total yards -the most given up by Saint Anselm this year- including 216 yards on the ground, the second most allowed this season. Sophomore QB Yianni Gavalas (Manhasset,
N.Y.) went 37 of 53 for 355 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing 11 times for 32 yards and two more scores.
Gavalas’ two rushing TDs gave the Hawks 17 running scores on the season to match the single-season program
record that was set back in 2001. His eight rushing touchdowns are the most ever for a Saint Anselm quarterback.
Senior WR Justin Bernard (Cambridge, Mass.) followed up last week’s record-setting day at Merrimack by catching
11 balls for 119 yards. It was the 36th straight game with a reception dating back to Oct. 9, 2010 for Bernard, who
passed former teammate Marcel Bouie for the school record of 35 that was set Sept. 7, 2007-Oct. 23, 2010. Fellow
senior WR Nick Marcella (No. Bridgton, Maine) set career highs with eight catches and 90 yards as he caught his
first career touchdown pass. Senior LB Zach Hayes (Chelmsford, Mass.) racked up a career-high 14 tackles, including
eight solo stops and 0.5 for a loss. Junior K/P Shane Grayson (Ormond Beach, Fla.) was a perfect 2-for-2 on field goal
tries, including a 41-yarder that matched his career long, which is the sixth longest kick in program history. Grayson
was 2-for-3 on PAT tries, as he had one blocked, and punted four times for a 40.0 average that included a long of 52
yards. The Hawks will look to get back into the win column Saturday at 1 p.m. on the road against LIU Post.
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT: A run of 20 unanswered points proved to be the difference in the football game as So.
Connecticut dropped a 27-14 decision to New Haven on Saturday afternoon. The Owls dropped to 1-5 overall and
1-4 in Northeast-10 play. Freshman Shaquan Hall (Newark, N.J) made an impact with 141 all-purpose yards (31 receiving, 130 return) and one touchdown on the afternoon. Quarterback Raymond Catapano (Franklin Square, N.Y.)
completed 19-of-30 passes for 178 yards and one touchdown. Gary Williams (West Haven, Conn.) paced the wide
receivers with team-highs of six catches and 62 yards. Brian Wilcox (Jericho, Vt.) registered 13 tackles to lead the
defense, while Michael Cerisano (Newburgh, N.Y.) had 11 stops. The Owls are back in action on Saturday for their
annual Homecoming game. Kickoff against Bentley is set for 1 p.m.
STONEHILL: The Skyhawks dropped their second-straight one possession game at LIU Post on Saturday. Senior Nate
Robitaille (Attleboro, Mass.) led Stonehill with a season-high 201 all-purpose yards and broke the program’s career
record with his 23rd touchdown reception. He had a season-high nine catches for a season-best 127 yards and the
touchdown, to go with 40 yards on four punt returns and 34 yards on two kickoff returns. One week after becoming
just the third player in program history with over 2,000 receiving yards, Robitaille collected his 23rd career touchdown reception to break the previous mark of 22 touchdowns by Dan Cahill, ‘96. The touchdown was the 24th of
Robitaille’s career overall, moving him into a tie for third all-time with Cahill. Sophomore Ryan Doherty (Methuen,
Mass.) led the Stonehill defense with a career-high 13 tackles (six solo), while junior Peter Catal (Cornwall, N.Y.)
added career-best 11 stops (two solo). Senior Nate Morris (Bristol, R.I.) recorded his eighth career interception for
the Skyhawks, moving into a tie for eighth all-time at the College. Stonehill is back in New York this weekend when
it visits Pace on Saturday at noon.
