SOCIAL MEDIA
So, you’ve heard of Facebook right? Lol! Somebody
recently suggested that 95% of what is on Facebook is
rubbish. What do you think? Like it or not, we are
communicating through social media more and more so
here are some suggested ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ from a
Christian ethical perspective.
Don’t use offensive language
Don’t say anything you wouldn’t say to a person face
to face
 Don’t post inappropriate or immodest images
 Don’t criticize, belittle or demean anyone
 Don’t compare your insides with other people’s
outsides
 Don’t be negative
 Don’t base your self worth on the amount of “likes” you
receive
 Don’t use Facebook as a friend competition


Do say what you mean
Do communicate in a positive way
 Do what Jesus would do
 Do express yourself with honour, authenticity and
excellence
 Do spend time with your Facebook friends face to face
 Do remember everything you put on Facebook lasts
 Do your research before saying ‘yes’ to a friend
request

NEW TO CHURCH?
PHILIPPINES MISSION TRIP
FOOD PANTRY
LIVING SPRINGS COUNSELLING
The Connect Lounge is open every
Sunday morning after the service for
those who are new to the church and
wish to connect with other new people
and to meet with people who can answer
any questions regarding our church
life. New families are encouraged to go
there for a number of weeks to get to
know others in a similar position. Also, if
you are interested in joining or starting a
LifeGroup there will be someone there
to sign you up or answer any questions
you might have.
The Philippines Team says THANK YOU
to all who prayed, encouraged, gave and
supported us on this mission. We had an
amazing time connecting with the
teachers and children at Fishermen for
Christ Learning Centre for the Deaf. We
painted, repaired, led devotions, played
games, hosted parties and even ‘spoiled’
the teachers with a retreat at the beach
and then took them all out for dinner –
they were overwhelmed by such
generosity and send their thanks for
making it possible. If you want to hear
more stories or if you are interested in
joining the next team in late January
contact Chris Hennequin, Stuart
McKerihan or any team member .
Thank you so much for your contribution
to this valuable ministry as we serve the
community we live in. The following items
are needed. If you could contribute
please do so in the trolley in the foyer.

non-threatening environment where
