Rocky Horror Halloween Event For MONIFF
A Rocky Horror Halloween Event to
benefit MONIFF (Monadnock International Film Festival) will be held in
Peterborough on Friday, October 31st at
the Peterborough Community Theatre
at 6 School Street.
This event includes a Halloween
party that starts at 9:30 p.m. at Marzano’s Trattoria next door that includes
festive eats and a cash bar. The film
begins at 11 p.m.
In keeping with its reputation for
late night screenings, audience members are encouraged to dress up as
main characters (portrayed by actors
Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry
Bostwick). Costumes are not necessary,
but prizes will be awarded. Prop bags
will be provided for use during certain
scenes in the film and include water
pistols, toilet paper, party hats, noisemakers, rice, toast, etc.
Tickets are $15 per person and
include pre-film party, prop bag, and
admission. Tickets can be purchased online at www.moniff.org. There will be
limited tickets available at the door.

Swing Era Tunes
The Swanzey Open Space Committee has received a grant from the
New Hampshire Humanities Council
to present, “A Walk Back in Time: the
Secrets of Cellar Holes,” on Wednesday,
October 22nd at 7 p.m. at the Swanzey
Town Hall. The program is free and
open to the public.
Adair Mulligan will lead a public
discussion on old New England cellar
holes, which today often appear in the
midst of forested land. These cellar
holes are reminders of the people who
once lived and farmed our woods.
Anyone hiking into the woods will
often come upon such a hole and wonder who lived there and why they left.
Registration is suggested.
