THE HERALD • OCTOBER 8, 2014 • PAGE 14 Obituaries DANIEL BOONE Daniel Boone “Dan’l,” 83year-old traveler of Caballo Lake, N.M., passed away in Truth or Consequences, N.M., on Oct. 1, 2014. Daniel was born in Tacoma, Wash., on July 17, 1931, to Marvin and Irma (Comer) Boone. Mr. Boone was educated in the Life of “Hard Knocks” and graduated with honors. His other education was the University of Oklahoma in the 1950s; served in the United States Air Force; worked at NASA, Schlumberger, Rice University and many endeavors of bicycle shops. A man of nature and science, he enjoyed the Rocky Mountains until his death; was a friend to many and stranger to none. He gave his time and love to all who would accept him. He would say, “Fall down seven times, get up eight.” Daniel’s brother, Sam said he “Never met anyone who said ‘I don’t like that guy.’” He always treated everyone equal. If God had any bicycles to fix, they’d be fixed by now. He leaves behind many loved ones, siblings, Sam, David and wife, Linda, and Joy Boone; children, Dawn, Forrest, Clifford, Laura, Jeffery, Alan and Gordon; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild along with friends in many towns in New Mexico, Texas and Washington. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Erma and Marvin; sister, Pat; and brother, Jerry. We (the family, nature, science and friends) would like to thank everyone for their support and help in this time of grief. Please no donations or gifts: Dan’l would rather you give them to others in need. Cremation will take place and no service held. For condolences, visit ww w.kirikosfamilyfuneral.com .
