makes up one of the fastest growing segments of our... 142,000 computers and Why is this a concern?

Did you know...that e-waste (obsolete electronic products)
makes up one of the fastest growing segments of our nation’s
waste stream? We dispose of 142,000 computers and
over 416,000 mobile devices every day!
Why is this a concern? E-waste represents 2% of America's trash in
landfills, but it contains 70% of the toxic waste. These toxins
can pollute water, soil and air without proper disposal, and
can cause cancer and many other health problems.
What can we do about E-waste? E-cycling! E-cycling
provides a way to dispose of electronics safely.
Plan to “E-rase Your E-waste” at our county-wide free e-cycling event. This
event will provide us with an environmentally friendly alternative to dumping
our e-waste in the local landfill. Collection locations and times are as follows:

available to individuals and organizations interested in adapting it for their own events. For more information, contact Jackie Couture at [email protected]
