STATE PROPOSAL SECTION
PROPOSAL 14-1
A REFERENDUM OF PUBLIC ACT 520 OF 2012, ESTABLISHING A HUNTING SEASON
FOR WOLVES AND AUTHORIZING ANNUAL WOLF HUNTING SEASONS
Public Act 520 of 2012 would:
Designate wolf as game for hunting purposes and authorize the first wolf hunting season.
Allow the Natural Resources Commission to schedule annual wolf hunting seasons. Provide
criminal penalties for the unlawful possession or taking of wolves, but shield a person who lawfully
captures or destroys a wolf from prosecution. Require a person who wishes to hunt wolves to obtain
a wolf hunting license. Create a Wolf Management Advisory Council for the purpose of making
nonbinding recommendations to the legislature regarding the proper management of wolves.

PROPOSAL 14-2
A REFERENDUM OF PUBLIC ACT 21 OF 2013, GRANTING THE NATURAL
RESOURCES COMMISSION THE POWER TO DESIGNATE WOLVES AND CERTAIN
OTHER ANIMALS AS GAME WITHOUT LEGISLATIVE ACTION
Public Act 21 of 2013 would:
Allow the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) to designate certain animals as game for hunting
purposes and establish the first hunting season for game animals without legislative action.
Continue the NRC’s designation of wolves as game and allow the NRC to set a wolf hunting season.
Grant the Legislature sole authority to remove a species from the list of designated game animals.
Eliminate the $1.00 hunting and fishing licensing fee for members of the military, whether stationed
inside or outside of Michigan, subject to any lottery. Give the NRC sole authority to regulate fishing.

TOWNSHIP PROPOSAL SECTION
Berrien Township
Road Maintenance and Repair Special Millage
Shall the Township of Berrien levy thirty six dollars ($36) on each parcel of real property
subject to taxation, for a period of four years commencing in 2015 through 2018,
inclusive, for the purpose of funding maintenance, repair and replacement of roads
within the Township? This levy will raise approximately $90,000 in the first calendar
year.
SODUS TOWNSHIP
PROPOSAL TO RENEW MILLAGE FOR ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
Shall the previously voted millage for road improvements continue to levy the statutory
rate limitations of 2 mills ($2 per $1,000 of taxable value) on general ad valorem taxes
within Sodus Township (Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution ). This proposal
is a renewal and levied for four years, 2015 through 2018 inclusive, for the purpose of
road improvements. The estimated revenue generated in the first year levy is $142,087.
WEESAW TOWNSHIP
FIRE PROTECTION RENEWAL
Shall the expired previous voted millage increase in the tax limitations imposed under
Article IX, Section 6, of the Michigan Constitution in Weesaw Township, of 1 mill ($1.00
per $1,000 of taxable value), be renewed at the original voted 1 mill ($1.00 per $1,000
of taxable value) and levied for four years, 2015 through 2018 inclusive, for providing
fire protection services, including but not limited to, the maintenance, operation, housing
and purchase of apparatus and equipment, raising an estimated $77,473.34, in the first
year the millage is levied?
WEESAW TOWNSHIP
ROAD MILLAGE PROPOSITION
Shall the Township of Weesaw, Berrien County, Michigan, levy up to1.0 (one) mill,
which is equal to $1.00 for each $1,000.00 of taxable valuation of real and personal
property subject to taxation. Said millage will be an extra-voted millage to be used for
the maintenance, upkeep and construction of roads within Weesaw Township, so
designated by the Township Board. Said millage, if approved by the electors of
Weesaw Township, will be levied for a period of two years, beginning with the year 2014
and ending with the levy in the year 2015. Based on current valuation, it is estimated
that the levy will generate approximately $77,473.34 in the first year of the levy.

SCHOOL PROPOSALS
BRIDGMAN PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT
OPERATING MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL
This proposal will allow the school district to levy the statutory rate of up
to 8.38 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property
exempted by law, required for the school district to receive its revenue per
pupil foundation allowance and renews millage that will expire with the
2014 tax levy.
Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation of 8.38 mills ($8.38 on each $1,000
of taxable valuation) on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all
property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Bridgman
Public School District, Berrien County, Michigan, be renewed for the year 2015 to
provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will
collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2015 is approximately $8,300,000 (this is
a renewal of millage which will expire with the 2014 tax levy)?
DOWAGIAC UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT
OPERATING MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL
This proposal will allow the school district to levy the statutory rate of
18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other
property exempted by law, required for the school district to
receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance and renews
millage that will expire with the 2014 tax levy.
Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation of 18 mills ($18.00 on
each $1,000 of taxable valuation) on the amount of taxes which may be
assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property
exempted by law, in Dowagiac Union School District, Cass, Van Buren and
Berrien Counties, Michigan, be renewed for a period of 4 years, 2015 to
2018, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the
revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in
2015 is approximately $4,619,393 (this is a renewal of millage which will expire
with the 2014 tax levy)?
RIVERSIDE SCHOOL #6 - HAGAR TOWNSHIP
OPERATING MILLAGE PROPOSAL
This proposal renews operating millage that will expire with the 2014 levy
and restores millage lost as a result of the reduction required by the
Michigan Constitution of 1963.
Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation on the amount of taxes which may
be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property
exempted by law, in School District No. 6, Hagar Township (Riverside School), Berrien
County, Michigan be renewed by 17.9226 mills ($17.9226 on each $1,000 of taxable
valuation) and also be increased by .0774 mill ($0.0774 on each $1,000 of taxable
valuation) for a period of 2 years, 2015 and 2016, to provide funds for operating
purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is
approved and levied in 2015 is approximately $88,000 (this being a renewal of millage
which will expire with the 2014 levy and a restoration of millage lost as a result of the
reduction required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963)?
RIVER VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT
MILLAGE PROPOSAL, BUILDING AND SITE
SINKING FUND TAX LEVY
Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property
in River Valley School District, Berrien County, Michigan, be increased by and the board
of education be authorized to levy not to exceed .5 mill ($0.50 on each $1,000 of
taxable valuation) for a period of 5 years, 2015 to 2019, inclusive, to create a sinking
fund for the construction or repair of school buildings and all other purposes authorized
by law; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is
approved and levied in 2015 is approximately $324,586?
