Presentation Abstract
The UEFI Forum Dong Wei
UEFI Forum Industry Update
This session, presented by the Vice President of The UEFI Forum, will provide a review of the
current UEFI specifications, activities of the Forum’s working groups and insight to the
organization’s current and future initiatives.
Intel
Different Deployment Models for UEFI
Firmware on Intel Platforms
Intel's firmware ecosystem has changed dramatically since the introduction of UEFI. This
presentation reviews new methods for firmware deployment, from open source to configurable
binaries.
The UEFI Security Response Team
This presentation is intended to inform the UEFI membership about the new UEFI Security
Response Team (USRT), it motivations, processes and current status. Dick Wilkins of Phoenix
Technologies, who chairs the team, will report on why and how the team was created. How it will
do its job and the work that remains for the team. Specifically he will address the open issues of
coordination of information on vulnerabilities between member companies, verifying the entire
ecosystem is responding properly to suspected vulnerabilities, fix release coordination and
negotiating disclosures with security researchers. The presentation is on behalf of the UEFI
Forum but is supported by Phoenix Technologies, Ltd.
Kevin Davis
Building A UEFI Security Test Strategy
UEFI systems are becoming a target for security researchers and malware authors. Your UEFI
system may be the next target. The UEFI Forum is reacting with the USRT. Now, your company
needs to build a security test strategy for your UEFI systems. In this presentation we review the
available tools for UEFI system security testing and how to use them during UEFI system
development.

As UEFI moves into smaller devices, a keyboard is not always available on the device. A solution
to this is the vast number of Bluetooth based keyboards and mice on the market. The UEFI
specification currently has no Bluetooth related support. This presentation will go over how a
Implementing a Bluetooth Stack on UEFI Bluetooth stack could be added within the UEFI framework.
