The ŠKODA Superb
Effective: October 2014
You’ll spend three years of your life
in a car. Make the right choice.
Choose the ŠKODA Superb.
Welcome to the Superb
The Superb has represented the pinnacle of ŠKODA style and design for nearly eight decades.
First introduced to the range in 1934, Superb models have become synonymous with strong
design and powerful road presence. Now, thanks to a substantial restyle of both the hatch
and estate models, the latest evolution reaffirms its position at the top of the ŠKODA range.
With a host of design enhancements that align the Superb with the latest members of the
ŠKODA family, the flagship model in the range has a new energy and an even more engaging
and striking appearance.
The front of the Superb has been completely redesigned from the A-pillars forward, with new
bonnet, wings, bumper and grille combining to give a familiar yet expressive new look to the
Superb range.
The Superb offers an improved engine range that delivers lower emissions and markedly
improved fuel consumption across the model line-up. Every engine in the new range emits less
CO2 than before, with every model delivering enhanced fuel efficiency.
Read on to discover the new design, greater comfort and lower fuel consumption.

3
The Superb has become a showcase
for ŠKODA’S design and engineering
excellence.
Design
Style, comfort and practicality are qualities that have
always marked the Superb as a true flagship of the
ŠKODA range.
The design of the Superb is now defined by the new
ŠKODA design language.
The front is dominated by the new ŠKODA logo
located above the chrome front grille and aligned
with the headlights whose straight lines give a
compact yet dynamic impression.
4
Model shown is Superb Hatch Laurin & Klement with optional Magnetic Brown metallic paint.
5
Superior and dynamic
Electrically controlled fifth door. The Superb Estate is available with
an optional electrically operated boot. At the touch of a button - either
beside the gearstick, on the key fob (press and hold for 2 seconds) or
on the boot itself, the boot will open automatically.
When you have finished loading, press the button on the inside of the
tailgate and the boot will close. This system has a clever feature for
when you may park somewhere with a low ceiling - the height of the
boot opening can be pre-set so you don’t have to worry about any
unwanted scrapes and dents.
EXTERIOR
• BI-XENON LIGHTS
• TWINDOOR
• LED REAR LIGHTS
• SUNROOF
Bi-xenon lights. The optimal illumination of the Bi-Xenon
lights perfectly match the overall dynamic look of the Superb.
LED daytime running lights now complement the Bi-Xenon
headlights by adding two vertical rows of LED’s making the
car clearly visible and eye catching. Standard on Elegance and
Laurin & Klement.
6
Panoramic sunroof (Estate only). Standard on Laurin
& Klement and optional on SE & Elegance this twopart electrically-adjustable panoramic sunroof,
provides an excellent enhancement to the luxurious
interior of the Superb.
LED rear lights. At the rear of the car, the light
clusters are enhanced by LED strips as standard
across the range creating a sharper and brighter
appearance.
Electric sunroof with solar cells. Available as an option on Hatch
the sunroof supplies electric energy that drives an air conditioning
ventilator, which takes care of the air circulation inside the Superb.
Therefore even after extended parking in the sun a fresh and
pleasant climate will await you.
Twindoor (Hatch only). Twindoor is ŠKODA’s revolutionary boot
opening mechanism which allows the boot to be opened in two
different ways; as a hatch or as a saloon at the simplest touch of a
button. This gives you great versatility and more practicality compared
to a standard hatchback or saloon car.
7
INTERIOR
• VAST INTERIOR SPACE
• EXCEPTIONAL LEG ROOM
Class leading space
• WELL CRAFTED & SOPHISTICATED
• CLEVER STORAGE SOLUTIONS
Exceptionally spacious interior. The Superb
offers a tremendous amount of legroom and
luggage space for all passengers. The Estate has
an enormous 633 litres of usable space in the
boot which extends to 1,865 litres of space with
the seats down. In comparison, the Hatch boasts
595 litres, all easily accessible via the Twindoor
boot opening. This space extends to 1,700 litres
with the seats down. Passengers also benefit
from enormous amounts of leg room.
Umbrella compartment.
This ingenious
compartment complete
with Superb umbrella is
designed so that the
water from the wet
umbrella flows away
from the car and means
whatever the weather you
are prepared. Standard on
SE, Elegance and L&K.
Boot net programme. An option on both Hatch and Estate, this variety
of nets enable your cargo to be safely stowed ready for any journey.
Boot floor with
aluminium rail and
partition system.
Available on Estate,
this option helps
secure your cargo in
the vast luggage space.
Superb Estate Elegance with optional wood decor and optional boot floor with aluminium rail and partition system

TECHNOLOGY
• MULTI-FUNCTION STEERING WHEELS
• RADIO & SOUND SYSTEMS
• DSG
• MDI
Advanced infotainment
• KESSY
• PARK ASSIST
Modern technologies not only make
travelling more pleasant but increase the
ease of handling the vehicle.
For example, the optional 3-spoke
multi-function leather steering wheel
offers you control of the radio, phone and
the automatic DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox). A
4-spoke multi-function leather steering
wheel enabling control of the radio and
phone is standard across the range.
Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG), available
in both 6-speed and 7-speed versions,
guarantees smooth and rapid gear
shifts resulting in maximum utilisation
of the potential of the engine’s torque.
The recommended
gear shift function
is displayed in the
top right corner
of Maxi DOT.
The optional 10 speaker sound system with a 10-channel amplifier plus a digital equaliser
and ten speakers provides excellent sound reproduction in the vehicle.
The MDI (Mobile Device Interface)
gives you the ability to control a
connected external device through
the radio, navigation system or
multi-function steering wheel.
Park assist. Optional on Superb SE and Elegance, standard on Laurin & Klement.
Parallel parking and bay parking in the Superb is now easier than ever thanks to a
further evolution of ŠKODA’s award winning Park assist. With a press of a button, the
system will begin searching for a parking space in a line of cars or obstacles. When a
suitable space is found (the car’s length + 60 cm is all the space needed), the car will
steer itself into the space whilst the driver controls the pedals. The system will now
also steer the car out of a line of cars from its parking space and with two presses of
the same button, the car will search for and manoeuvre into a bay parking space.
In vehicles equipped
with the optional KESSY
(Keyless Entry, Start and
exit system) there is a
Start/Stop button on the
steering column for keyless
starting and switching off
of the engine.
10
The Bolero radio which is standard on SE has multitude
of functions, such as a reader for SD or MMC data cards,
the ability to play CDs as well as files in MP3 and WMA
formats and memory for radio traffic reports (TIM).
The Columbus navigation system with DAB radio which is
standard on Elegance and Laurin & Klement has a 6.5" colour
touch-screen and voice command function.
11
ŠKODA GreenLine III Technology
ŠKODA Green Future forms an integral part of our corporate philosophy. This is reflected in our efforts to keep reducing fuel
consumption and consequently CO2 emissions and no more so then as displayed by our GreenLine models.
The Superb GreenLine has, among other modifications, a lower chassis and reduced weight. Powered by the 1.6 TDI CR
105PS DPF it achieves a combined consumption of 67.3 mpg (65.7 mpg on Estate) and a CO2 emission level of 109 g/km
(Estate 113 g/km).
A GreenLine
badge can be
found on the
front grille.
The GreenLine logo can
be found on the rear of
the car.
Low rolling resistance tyres. The Superb GreenLine III has 16”
Spectrum Alloys on S trim or 16" Helix Alloys on SE and Elegance trim.
These lighter alloy wheels with low rolling resistance tyres have a
higher prescribed air pressure to reduce friction.
The Start-Stop system automatically
switches off the engine, for example
while waiting at the traffic lights.
By pressing the clutch pedal the
engine automatically restarts.
Energy recovery functionality, further
assists this by enabling effective use of the
car’s kinetic energy for battery recharging.
12
Model show is Superb Estate SE GreenLine III. Please note in the UK Chrome roof rails are standard on this trim.

We measure the maximum power output
figures of our engines in PS or Pferdestärke
(horse strength in German), which is the
metric equivalent of bhp. To convert from
metric to imperial horsepower, divide the PS
figure by 1.0139.
* Fuel consumption and CO2 figures are
obtained under standardised EU test
conditions (Directive 93/116/EEC). This
allows a direct comparison between
different manufacturer models but may
not represent the actual fuel consumption
achieved in ‘real world’ driving conditions.
More information is available on the
ŠKODA website at skoda.co.uk and

Please note: With all manual gear boxes
the clutch needs to be depressed to start
the engine.

ŠKODA Solutions. Your journey, your choice.
ŠKODA Finance like to do things a little differently, that’s why for many years we’ve specialised in providing
simple and convenient funding options for ŠKODA drivers. It’s what we know.
ŠKODA Solutions, the personal contract plan, is all about you; a flexible, competitive fixed-rate plan designed
around you and your budget, putting you firmly in the Superb driving seat.
Solutions is different because you defer a proportion of the car’s value until the end of the agreement, giving you
significantly lower monthly repayments than if you’d taken out a loan....ever heard of a bank being so imaginative?
Solutions is totally flexible. You get to choose the size of your deposit (from as little as one monthly payment),
and a repayment period which suits you and at the end of the term you have 3 options to choose from.

ŠKODA Insurance. Have a safe trip.
Part-exchange the car for a new
ŠKODA on a new Solutions contract.
No-one likes to think about their ŠKODA being damaged in an accident. But if it was you'd no doubt
want it repaired to ŠKODA standards, by a ŠKODA trained technician using only ŠKODA genuine parts.
Would your motor insurance provider guarantee to do that? We didn't think so...
So that you can drive your new ŠKODA straight home, we offer
seven day complimentary insurance with every new car.
Pay the optional final payment so
that you own the car.*
Thats why we came up with Ensurance - ŠKODA`s free accident and repair cover.
Circumstances changed? Return the car
to us (subject to terms and conditions).
It has all the features of our standard insurance, including the
peace of mind that comes from insuring with the people who know
your car best.
Ensurance works alongside your existing comprehensive motor insurance policy, no matter who you are
insured with, to help get you back on the road as smoothly as possible. Better still, its free for three
years and is available on both new and older models.
Your free Ensurance cover includes:
> Guaranteed use of a ŠKODA approved repairer, ŠKODA trained technicians and the use of genuine
ŠKODA parts and paints
> A dedicated Claims Manager who will look after your entire claim from start to finish
> Help to recover any uninsured losses with our Legal Expenses Cover
Call us free on 0800 316 7895, provide us with a few details, and
we'll send a cover note to your retailer. They will then tax your car
and you can drive it away. Telephone lines are open Monday to
Friday 8am - 9pm and Saturday 9am - 5pm.
But remember, our annual cover could make that peace of mind
last the whole year. For details of our full range of insurance
products please visit insurewithskoda.co.uk or for a quote call us
free on 0800 316 7895.
> An Online claims tracker so you can keep up to date with the status of any claim
To benefit from Ensurance you'll need to activate your free cover which takes less than a minute.
We hope you don’t ever have to use your policy but it’s nice to know it’s there – just in case.

Technical glossary
ABS: the anti-lock braking system
prevents the wheels from locking
during heavy or emergency braking,
enabling the vehicle to remain
steerable. When braking, wheel
speed sensors measure the road
wheel speed and should one or
more wheels start to lock the system
reduces brake pressure to that wheel.
Elements of the ABS System :• Dual Rate Vacuum Brake Boosters:
increases brake effort under
emergency braking conditions.
• EBC: Electronic brake control.
The engine brake torque control
regulates the power supply by
intervening with the engine
management system.
• EBD (aka EBV): Electronic Brake
Distribution automatically
distributes different pressures to
the front and rear brakes to stop the
rear wheels from locking up under
heavy braking. It also compensates
for loaded and unloaded vehicles
therefore doing away with the need
for a Load Sensing Valve on the
rear axle.
CAN Bus: the CAN Bus is an
electronic data bus which links the
various different electronic control
systems in the car. It ensures ideal
co-ordination between systems and
reduces the amount of wiring needed
in the car.
Fuel cut-out: should one or more of
the airbags inflate after an accident,
this system automatically cuts out
the fuel supply, thus preventing
subsequent leakage of the diesel
or petrol.
Trip Computer: the trip computer not
only features an impressive range of
data displays, operating it is simplicity
itself. A multifunction touch key
enables you to call up all relevant data
on the easy-to-read display. Features
include external temperature, time,
current fuel consumption, average
fuel consumption, miles driven and
average speed.
DPF: diesel particulate filter is part of
the exhaust system responsible for
cleaning the engine exhaust gases
before they enter the atmosphere.
The DPF catches soot particles
emitted in the exhaust gas and it
works in conjunction with the
catalytic converter, which reduces
the amount of harmful gases entering
the atmosphere. The DPF must
periodically be emptied of the soot
particles, a process known as
regeneration. This involves elevated
exhaust system temperatures.
A driving style is required during
regeneration, where a constant
vehicle speed above 37 mph must be
maintained. This does not always suit
customers who make frequent short
journeys or experience stop/start
driving or drive within inner-city or
urban areas.
Bi-Xenon lights: Bi-Xenon lights
produce about 2.5 times the light
of standard Halogen lights with
35% less energy consumption.
CR: All Superb’s diesel engines are
built on a system of Common-Rail fuel
injection. The diesel engines have a
high-pressure common rail direct
injection fuel system and four-valve
technology. As a result, the new
engines are much quieter, more
refined in their operation and
consume less fuel, compared to
the Pump Duse engines available
previously and significantly reduce
emissions.
AFS: Adaptive front light system is a
feature of Bi-Xenons and allows the
light beam to adapt to the car’s
speed, direction and the weather
conditions. Urban driving emits a
shorter, wider beam whilst faster
driving emits a longer beam.
Cornering function sees the beam
turn up to 15 degrees in direction of
the steering wheel’s turn. The beam
will also adjust according to car load,
acceleration and wet weather to
prevent dazzling oncoming vehicles.
ESC: Electronic Stability Control
is designed to stabilise the dynamic
handling response of the vehicle by
counteracting any tendency towards
oversteer or understeer. The ESC
constantly compares the actual
movement of the vehicle with
predetermined values and according
to the situation ESC reacts by braking
each wheel individually (according to
direction of slip) and automatically
adjusting the engine’s output.
Elements of ESC system:• ASR: anti-slip regulation traction
control ensures the Superb’s
stability when pulling away or
accelerating. If the engine power
or torque being transmitted to
the drive wheels is too great, for
example on a slippery road surface,
engine torque is automatically
reduced until optimum road holding
returns, thus preventing wheelspin.
A light indicates whether the ASR
system is on. It can be manually
switched off.
• MSR: the engine torque control
system recognises when the wheels
are subject to too much slippage
and regulates the power supply
by intervening in the engine
management system. This prevents
wheelspin when, for example,
changing down on a smooth or wet
road surface. MSR is a constituent
part of the ASR system.
• EDS: the electronic differential lock
continually compares the rpm of the
drive wheels, and if it identifies a
difference between them which
could lead to an individual wheel
spinning, for example if the two
wheels are on different types of
surface or accelerating on wet
leaves, the system brakes the wheel
affected until uniform rpm of all
drive wheels is restored.
• HBA: Hydraulic brake assistant
increases the optimal build-up of
brake power. It ensures complete use
of the brake system potential, thus
shortening the braking distance.
• DSR: Driver Steering
Recommendation – in a crisis
situation it helps the driver stabilize
a skid by making a slight intervention
in the steering.
• ESBS: Electronic Stability Brake
System – targeted interventions
in the braking process improve the
handling of a car as it brakes when
passing round a bend and keeps it
from veering.
Warranty

Calculating your tax liability
To find out how much tax you will pay,
simply take the P11D value, then multiply
this figure by the BiK percentage. Then
simply multiply this figure by 20% or 40%
depending on the level of income tax that
you pay.
Please note if your employer provides you
with free fuel, this is treated as an
additional taxable benefit.
