We have been granted final occupancy and our contractor has finished work. (We do have a contractor warranty for one year, so we will see them again as problems develop.) Today, within the Liturgy, we will pray a Moleben of Thanksgiving to the Lord for his Divine Help in all these things. Please know that various smaller projects (not involving our contractor) will continue: iconostasis, frescoes, hanging of photos and pictures, "figuring out where things go," a fencing project around the future playground, etc. Our Building Steering Committee will be working with our treasurer, lawyer, and lender, to finalize the revised mortgage arrangements and then our BSC will disband. Thanks especially to Bert Walther, Chris Reeves, and Nathaniel McCallum for their tireless labors over the past year. Red Oak Elementary School has asked St. Athanasius to partner with them to assist the children and families in their school. We are one of only two churches in the Red Oak district and are certainly the most visible. They have asked us to consider several ways to help: 1). Add Red Oak leadership and students (generally) to our Prayer List 2). Consider forming a serious prayer group that would take confidential prayer requests for kids and staff at the school. 3). Be able to assist financially (with groceries and occasionally with some utilities) certain families in need that the staff of Red Oak might identify, vouch for, and send to us. Homemade Baked Items are needed for the bake sale being organized by the St. Elizabeth Sisterhood for the open house. If you are willing to donate, please contact Linda Frangedakis. Proceeds will go to Angel Tree Program (Jessamine County Salvation Army) to help buy Christmas gifts for needy Weekend Readers Servers Handmaidens Prosphora Bread Ministry Fellowship Greeters Counters Oct. 11-12 Subdeacon Bert Walther JP, Liam, Silas (dk), Jeremiah (dk) Rebecca Walther Shannon Cook Tamara Patterson Team B (C & D Gann, Ben Worthington) Team I (Powell) John Mize Rebecca Wilson Tim Powell Laura Walther Oct. 18-19 Reader Ryan Winter Patrick, Ian, Quincy Silas (dk), Jared (dk) Suzannah Reeves Myra Lourie Tamara Patterson Team C (Tommy Evans, Olga Saito) Team II (Greathouse) Keith Buhler Jordan Henderson Mary Cook, Rebecca Wilson, Laura Walther Oct. 25-26 Reader Rick Cook Isaiah, Quincy David (dk), Jeremiah (dk) Beth Walther Lilliana Greathouse Kathryn Pressley Team D (Lisa Powell, Linda Frangedakis) Team III (Bradshaw) Alina & Daniel Rusu Ellie Sutter, Sarah Holiday, Tim Powell Nov. 1-2 Subdeacon Simeon Siskar TBA Robyn Cook Grace McCallum Kathryn Pressley Team A (Frederica, Sarah H, Youth) Team IV (Walther) Paul & Linda Frangedakis Laura Walther Rebecca Wilson
