On Friday September 19th, 2014, Mrs. Illig's classroom from Addison High School walked to the Dollar General Store on Tuscarora Street in Addison. Students learned about what skills are necessary to work at the Dollar General. Physical strength is needed to unload and load packages onto the shelves. Time management skills are important to arrive on time to work. Money skills are very essential when working as a cashier. Public relations are necessary when working with customers. It was a very educational field trip and students enjoyed shopping, too! The class would like to thank the store manager, Bradley Rawleigh, for allowing them to visit. A special thanks also goes out to the store clerk, Amy, and to the Assistant Manager, Lori for giving the class a tour of the store and for answering questions. In addition, the class would like to thank Eartha Onyiriuka, from the Career Development Council, for scheduling this career opportunity for them.
