President’s Volunteer Service Award Program
Both the Girl Scouts and America have long and proud traditions of volunteer service. The President’s Council
on Service and Civic Participation created the President’s Volunteer Service Award Program as a way to thank
and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to be of service to
their own communities.
The President’s Volunteer Service Award recognizes individuals, families and groups that have achieved a
certain standard – measured by the number of hours served over a 12-month period or cumulative hours
earned over the course of the lifetime, depending upon the honor bestowed. All types of service that
strengthen the community qualify for this award.
There are four levels of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award:
 Bronze Level
 Silver Level
 Gold Level
 President’s Call to Service Award (Lifetime)
Any individual, family, or group can receive Presidential recognition for volunteer hours and there are specific
criteria for each level of recognition and age level. See the table for the number of volunteer hours required
over a 12-month period for different age groups:

Upon completion of service, eligible participants can receive*:
 President’s Volunteer Service Award lapel pin
 A personalized certificate of achievement
 A congratulatory letter from the President of the United States
 A letter from the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation
Our Girl Scout volunteers often keep a journal or log of their experiences and time spent volunteering.
A printable or online Record of Service is available at the President’s Volunteer Service Award
Program website, www.presidentialserviceawards.gov. Each award cost $4.75 plus $6.00 for
shipping and $2.50 for handling, with a total cost of $13.25 per award.
Please submit a $13.25 check with your completed Certification Form to Karlynda Poage at the
JoAnn Fogg Service Center, 6001 Summerside Dr, Dallas, TX 75252.
Please allow 4-5 weeks for processing and receipt of awards.
* Items received are dependent upon awards package ordered from the President’s Volunteer
Service Award Program.

How to log your volunteer hours

Click on the Track Your Hours tab
Follow steps 1-4 and then click on
Create My Record of Service. If you
are under the age of 14, just click
that you are in order to create a
profile, but please make sure that
you are doing it with adult
supervision. If you have questions
about this please contact Karlynda
Poage and she will explain.
Click on the Profile tab.
Make sure you type in all the
information here. Your Record of
Service Key is CO-QTH-8754S. If
you do not type this in correctly
GSNETX will not be able to see
any of your volunteer hours.
Make sure that you click on the
correct age group.
For Individual Hours
First click on the My Service Tab and
then it will bring you to this screen;
click on Create New Record
Fill out everything here. If your activity is a
recurring activity you can click on that to
automatically get credit for your volunteer
hours.
When you have added your hours
you will be able to see them on
the “My Service” tab. Every time
you add hours GSENTX will be
able to see them, only if you have
typed in the correct Your Record of
Service Key.
Once you have enough hours to receive an
award you will need to turn in this form
along with $13.25 to

For Group Hours
First click on the Groups tab
Enter the Group code for your troop
or service unit here and click “Join
Group”. Please note this code is NOT
your troop or SU number. If you do
not have this code, please contact

Please note that you are unable to log
group hours. You must submit hours
to Karlynda Poage via the Group

When your group has reached a service award level, Karlynda Poage will notify the primary
contact for the group and request the PVSA Group Certification Form along with payment to:
