Bob Parks - GM Even though my retirement time is nearing it seems as though I am busier than ever. I really am looking forward to full retirement however, there are a lot of things to accomplish before I leave. One is certainly to find a successor that will keep this Club going in the same direction we have been going for the last nine years. We have posted the job opening on both the PGA and CMAA websites and we have been receiving resumes. You may also find the information about the General Manager position on our website www.fremontgolfclub.org The Search Committee will be reviewing these resumes and determining which candidates to interview. If all of the timing goes well, we could have a new General Manager as soon as December 1. I plan to stay around for long enough after that to make a smooth transition. I have been spending time with the Board and the Membership Committee determining the Membership Recruitment Plan for the coming new year. Details of that plan are included in this newsletter. And believe it or not, I have been working on next years budget so when the new General Manager is here, he can hit the ground running. The Board of Directors and committees have a lot of exiting new plans for next year including some exiting capital improvements for our Club. Robert Barr-Executive Chef Well it’s that time of year, the pool is closed, school has started and the cooler weather is approaching. We as a food service are still working to improve and to streamline the production practices for your eating pleasure. Now that our business has increased, and our physicality design has not, we ask for patience in the serving times especially for those groups, that walk in during peak times without reservations. It does serve us to know ahead of time how many members are coming to eat so we can prepare accordingly. Another note, we are looking forward to the Fall and Winter menu changes that will take place around October/ November of 2014. I would also like to encourage you to attend the upcoming wine dinner and the Adult cooking class to take place, as well as the Seafood Buffet and the 2 for$25 menu. Feel free to voice your pleasure, concerns, ideas and thoughts to me or any of the staff in the food service department and we will be pleased to assist you in any way we can. Nathan Kalin-Head PGA Professional The “Fall Golf Season” has arrived, which means: mild temperatures, a course in great shape, fast rounds, and as always great comraderie….. Below is a snapshot of what is happening at “Your Club”….. For those of you who played in Couples Golf this year, Thank You. We had GREAT attendance and we hope to continue to build on that next season as well. We would encourage any suggestions or comments from those who played on what you liked or how we could make it better in the future. Wol Eight Zero Five. Most season long Men’s Events have come to an end. We have billed those already, but I do want to take a moment to recognize our Champions: Match Play Championship Flight JB Harris, Derek Jacobsen or Cord Heget Match Play First Flight Jim Pearson Match Play Second Flight Bryce Exstrom or Matt Jurgenson Match Play Third Flight Brian Kudrna Match Play Fourth Flight Rick Satorie Ladies League Ruth Rector & Becky Brown Fall is a great time to demo the new equipment for 2015. Very shortly we will be receiving the new Mizuno irons and woods, Titleist 915 driver and Ping G30 woods. We also have the fitting technology that can get you dialed in with the correct shaft and loft. Call us to set up an appointment so you are all set with your clubs before the 2015 season. Dennis Kitzelman-Superintendent Well it is that time of year again! Time to aerify and seed the course. The crew will work hard as always to complete this big task and keep you golfers playing at the same time. We have already finished the greens and tees and with any luck the fairways will be done by the time you read this. After we aerate the course we are always running the irrigation system throughout the day to keep the seed wet to allow the seed to germinate. If you see the water running on a fairway or green always be ready for the next set of heads to come on! The heads are on a timer normally Sch Seven Five Five they run 5-7 minutes then go to the next station. We are not trying to get you wet just the turf. I’ve been hit by the water in the summertime when it’s hot and that’s not so bad but in the fall it can be very cold. I hope that everyone will hang in there and keep golfing this fall. We will try and keep ahead of the leaves as they start to come down. Hope to see you out on the course soon! With the tournaments coming to an end I want to remind everyone that all golf shop credit must be used by December 31st of this year. I will post a sign in both locker rooms with everyone’s name on them who has outstanding credit. If you are not sure you can always call the golf shop as well. Recent “Hole in One” to report-Scott Meister (Hole #17) Scott Deines (Hole #17) Finally, as temperatures turn cooler this fall, don’t forget you are the only private club in Nebraska to have an Indoor Performance Center. We will administer the facility just like last year, which means you call the shop and reserve a time slot. Half hour and Hour slots are available, and can be booked 7 days in advance…. The building is available year round, so don’t hesitate to call….. The Partnership Plan was so successful this past year that the Membership Committee and Board of Directors have decided to repeat it again for the coming year. Almost 40 existing members took advantage of the Partnership Plan last year and recruited just under 90 new members. There is an addendum to the 2015-2016 Partnership Plan for the existing Partners to enlarge their group up to 4 partners including the original member. Read the enclosed information for details. It also has been noted by the Board of Directors that due to aggressive marketing and recruitment that we are nearing maximums for our membership. This means that this program could be withdrawn anytime between now and next year depending on how many existing and new members take advantage of this Plan.
