RE: Announcement of Mamanuca Restaurant & Lounge - New Development Project:
As promised earlier this year over the Fiji Tourism Exchange, Mana Island
Resort & Spa – Fiji will go through a Major Renovation of our Main Resort area, including
the ‘Mamanuca’ Restaurant (Buffet Restaurant), Main Lounge, main kitchen, Family
Round pool, the Pool bar, and the Ocean View Rooms. We will renovate these areas and
upgrade the facilities, introducing a New café, New large size swimming pool with Swim up
bar, and a new decking around the pool and the restaurant.
These exciting and new changes and the main Renovation works we plan to start after the
Festive Season from 7th of January until 31st of May 2015.
The Owner and Directors of Mana Island Resort & Spa – Fiji are confident that this
FJ$10 Million project will be completed in this time span as they have every confidence in
the different Project Contractors who will be assigned to each different Phase of the
Renovation works.
Phase One of the Project;
To begin on the 1st of November for 3 weeks upgrading works to the existing Kitchen will
commence. Currently we have an ‘Open Display Kitchen’, which we will prepare all buffet
meals over this period. Please be reminded that from the 3rd week of November (23rd) until
13th of December 2014, the entire resort will be closed for a Group Charter. From 14th
December 2014 until 6th of January 2015, the Open display Kitchen, our BBQ grill outside
the main buffet restaurant and the Firewood Pizza Oven will act as substitutes for the
closed main kitchen.

During Phase One, any heavy machinery work will be done in the day and this area which is
out of sight and the operation area will be closed off. The scope of the work is done behind the
main restaurant building and will not disturb staying guests.
It is anticipated at this time at all food operation will be carried out as normal and should there
be any disruptions over these dates before full closure of the whole complex, we will advise
guests and serve meals at an alternative venue.
Phase Two:
Set to Start from 7th of January 2015 after the hustle and bustle of the Festive Season.
The Mamanuca Restaurant and Deck areas, Family Pool and Ocean View Rooms will be
closed off. It is at this time we will have our Contractors begin the major renovation plans that
we have mentioned above.
From 7th of January – 31st May 2015, meals will be offered at the South Beach Restaurant and
‘Vale Ni Soqo’ (Banquet center – located next South Beach Restaurant) with BBQ lunches,
picnic lunches and activities done away from the Renovation area.
