Early Bird Campaign Help your Branch RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP EARLY VISIT OUR WEBSITE AT www.rclbranch255.com The Bulletin is published by Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255Editor - Elaine Dunn - October 2014 PRESIDENTS REPORT Summer is over and fall is upon us. I hope everyone had a fun and safe summer. The Zone Commander and Deputy came in on Thursday Sept 25 for our annual inspection. Due to our deficit we have been red flagged. It is up to the Provincial Command to come to a decision for what is to be our out come. The matter of amalgamation has been mentioned again. It is something the executive and membership have to look at. It has come down to declining membership and not enough participation by our members, and slumping bar sales. Hopefully now that many of the sports teams have started up things may turn around. Meat draws and 50/50 draws will be back this October 11th. The Seniors dinners and Friday Fish Fry's are doing well. Thanksgiving is Monday October 13, have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving day. Remember folks this is your Legion, if we wish to remain open we need everyone's help. With Thanks Tim Copland Br 255 PRESIDENT At the Going Down of the Sun and in the Morning Every day that we awaken and have the freedom to make choices, the freedom of speech, the freedom to worship, the freedom to choose our own government, is a day in which we should bow our heads and THANK our military for securing those choices. Young men and women have donned the uniform of our country and put their lives on the line to make Canada the country that it is. WE WILL REMEMBER THEM If you wish to have a Legion service, please let your Funeral Director know. 1 MEMBERSHIP REPORT by Bob Bromley Chairman As of Tuesday September 23, 2014 the Branch Paid Membership for 2015 is: Life: 14 Paid: 37 Transferred out: -1 Total: 50 EARLY BIRD CAMPAIGN: The 2015 Membership Cards have arrived and renewals have begun on September 1, 2014 with our early bird campaign.
