2014-2015 Tryout Information
Registration Information and Options:
Thank you for considering trying out for the Rapid Spikers this year! Registration is $25 and includes TWO tryouts Monday tryouts are intended only for individuals unable to attend one or both Sunday tryouts for their age group.

2. If you do not register online, the form on page two of this document should be printed and filled out prior to
arrival at the designated tryout time for each age group.
Important Information:
Coaches at tryouts will be evaluating players based on several factors including the skills expected of each age level as
well as on ATTITUDE, TEAMWORK, and EFFORT. We are looking for players that work hard, have fun, and play together. We will have highly competitive teams in each age group, with Black teams attending National Qualifier Tournaments. Players (and parents) need to be committed to be available as much as possible throughout the season for
meetings, practices, and tournaments.
Tryout Times and Rules:
Rapid Spikers tryout rules require that each player must try out for their designated age group first, and then may try
out for older age groups - this can only be waived with approval of club directors. Tryouts will again be located at
Corridor Courts (750 44th Street, Marion, IA 52302). The facility is a yellow warehouse on the west side of
44th street. Parking is available behind the building, in the large lot on the south side of the building, across
the street in the Cotton Gallery or Vector Corp. lots. Tryout times are listed below:

1pm – 3pm (11’s and 13’s)
3:30pm – 5:30pm (12’s and 14’s)

6pm – 7pm (11’s and 12’s)
7pm – 8pm (13’s and 14’s)

NOTE: If you are unsure of the proper age group for a player, please reference the age chart on page 3 from the USA
Volleyball Iowa Region (www.iavbreg.org), which shows birth month and year requirements for each level.
USA Volleyball Membership/Registration:
You must register or renew with USA Volleyball through the Iowa Region Website (www.iavbreg.org) prior
to participating in tryouts (you may choose a single day tryout registration or an annual registration). Please
be sure to bring your registration/membership confirmation with you to check-in. NOTE: 2013-14 MEMBERSHIPS EXPIRE ON OCTOBER 31, 2014.
