Director of Faith Formation,
at a special Mass and Reception on
Sunday, October 26th.
(Mass will be at 9:15 am, followed by a
reception in the Ministry Center.)
At a national conference in St. Louis in May,
Jeannie became the third person in the nation
to receive National Certification as a Lay
Ecclesial Minister in Catechetical Leadership.
To achieve certification, Jeannie was required
to submit hundreds of documents demonstrating
her training in theology and catechesis, as well as
her skills and professionalism as a minister in the
Church. It is now our turn to honor her for her
achievement, and to thank her for sharing her
gifts with us for the past 41 years. In honoring
Jeannie, we honor all lay ministers in our church.
We would like to thank the Parish, School
and Religious Education parents, teachers &
families that supported our Parish Fiesta this
last weekend.
In spite of the extremely warm weather,
all the volunteers and attendees came and
celebrated our weekend of fellowship, sharing
our diverse gifts and enjoying great food,
rides and fabulous entertainment in support
of our church and school.
It was an amazing weekend of laughter, old
friendships renewed, new friendships begun
and lasting memories.
Our most heartfelt appreciation to all the
volunteers and performers for sharing their
talents and their time.
We could not have done this without all your
support. Thank You All and God Bless You All!

The St. Vincent de Paul, St. Catherine Laboure
Conference, is desperately in need of financial
support from our fellow parishioners here at
St. Catherine’s Church. Our conference provides
daily lunches for the homeless, and less fortunate,
people in our community (along with other forms
of assistance). Last year thanks to fundraising,
and your donations, we were able to provide over
900 well-balanced lunches to those people in our
community. The amount of lunches provided this
year-to-date has reached an overwhelming 1,833,
which amounts to an increase of over 100%. As a
result of the increase number of lunches provided
so has our financial necessity, and so we are
humbled as we ask our community, and parish, for
support. Thanksgiving, and Christmas are quickly
approaching as is our Holiday food/gift baskets
for the less fortunate families within our parish,
which are also at risk due to the lack of funds.
Monetary donations will help defray the added
grocery expenses, but we welcome donations of
membership that will also help in our continued
fight against poverty. We ask today that you
consider donating in any way possible, and join
us in praying that others will follow. Our mission
has always been to “promote the dignity of the
person(s), alleviate suffering and distress, while
correcting the conditions that cause them.” This
mission can only continue with the support of our
family and friends here at St. Catherine Laboure.
You can find small (yellow) St. Vincent de Paul
donation envelopes near every door in the Church,
and also in the Parish Office.
If you would like more information in regards to
membership, or how you can help, please contact
the Parish Office, 310-323-8900.
“Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who
has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
- Luke 3:11
MISSION STATEMENT. . . a welcoming, and worshipping community of Roman Catholic disciples of the Lord Jesus who express His
presence in us by active involvement with one another, and our outreach to the larger human family to build the KINGDOM of GOD.

Though safety inside school is ultimately the responsibility of the principal and school staff, parents can take a
few basic steps to ensure a safe school experience.”
