the daughter of Late Prof. M. V.
Deshpande.
The Chief Guest in his
presentation said that the Conventional
Boilers can achieve a maximum
efficiency of 36% whereas supercritical
boilers can achieve an efficiency of 41%.
This is mainly because the boiler
operates at 242 Bar Main Steam
Pressure, 565 Deg C main steam
temperature and 593 Deg C reheat
steam temperature. Presently facilities
in India are not adequate to manufacture
these type of boilers. However huge
investments are coming into the country
and they are opening tremendous
opportunities for this type of technology.
There is a tremendous need for Infra
structure development both in Materials
and Skilled Manpower.
