Expression of Interest for Project Management
National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) invites Expression of Interest (EOI) for selection of
an organization to provide Project Management support for a large academic partnership project of
NSDC. The objective of this partnership is to provide skill based training to the students of 667
colleges of Savitri Bhai Phule University of Pune.
The details of project is mentioned below and the last date to submit the proposal is 15th October,
2014.

University of Pune and National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) signed an MOU to
introduce skill based training for the students of 667 colleges and 53 autonomous
institutions of the University.
The colleges affiliated to the University are spread across 4 districts of Pune, Nasik,
Ahmednagar and Dadar and Nagar Haveli
This training will be a part of the academic cycle as an additional mandatory subject of
approx. 7 lakh students and the students will be allotted credits in the mark sheet.
NSDC and University of Pune would like to implement this project in a phase wise manner.
The 1st phase of the project will focus Post Graduate students and then scale up the project
to Undergraduate students from March 2015 onwards.
An empowered committee appointed by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor selected 21 training
partners to impart skill based training to the students of these colleges.
These 21 partners have been allocated a cluster of colleges to undertake delivery of courses
in any 5 of the 10 sectors identified for the project. The list includes 2 supporting partners
who have not been allocated any college however will act as sector experts.
The list of 10 sectors for the initial phase of the project are:

4. Retail
5. Telecom
6. Automotive
7. Electronics and Hardware
8. Agriculture
9. Security
10. Healthcare
The job roles selected for the students will be based on NSQF level 4, 5 and 6 respectively.
The training partner and SSC will conduct a Training Needs Identification to determine the
level of the students and the career aspiration to guide them accordingly for the choice of
sector and job role.
The responsibility for the training partner includes orientation of students, batch formation ,
training delivery, organizing guest lectures and placement facilitation

The overall responsibility of assessment and certification will be driven by the designated
assessors of Sector Skill Councils.
The project management team will ensure seamless co-ordination of string of activities by
various stakeholders like Training Partners, Sector Skill Councils, University /colleges.
The Project Management team will be reporting to NSDC (Standards and QA team). The
reporting structure and review mechanism will be jointly finalized by NSDC and the Project
Management Team.
Expected Roles and Responsibilities of the Project Management Team
1. PMU will have 3 resources and 1 Senior Project Manager. Number of resources would be
increased commensurate with the project requirement in consultation with the Skill
Development centre of the University.
2. PMU will be responsible for the following deliverables:
• Handling day-to-day operations of the project including site visits covering all training
institutions under the project
• Developing and implementing the Monitoring & Evaluation framework of training
programmes in colleges.
• Ensuring that the training partners abide by their roles and responsibilities under
stipulated time frame.
• Liasioning with college authorities and the university on an ongoing basis.
• Prompt communication and resolving issues pertaining to the project keeping NSDC in
the loop.
• Provide weekly progress reports to team Standards and QA,NSDC
• Any task as and when assigned by NSDC
Eligibility Criteria
1.
Past experience of project management and execution in the field of education and
training preferably with large organizations in Pune, Maharashtra.
