PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS - (in unison) . . . . . . . . Adapted from Mother Janet Stuart, 1857-1914
Dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, We hold all our weakness to your strength,
our failure to your faithfulness, our sinfulness to your perfection, our loneliness
to your compassion, our little pains to your great agony on the Cross. We pray
that you will cleanse us, strengthen us, and hide us, so that in all ways, our life
may be lived as you would have it lived, without cowardice and for you alone.
In Your name we pray. Amen.
A TIME OF SILENCE

THANKSGIVING FOR THE WORD
O Word of God incarnate, O Wisdom from on high,
O Truth unchanged, unchanging, O Light of our dark sky:
We praise You for the radiance That from the hallowed page,
A lantern to our footsteps, Shines on from age to age.
SCRIPTURE READINGS – Luke 17:11-19

It’s All About the Gratitude:
The Gift
THIS WE BELIEVE (In unison) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Ephesians 2:4-10, NRSV
God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us even
when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with
Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated
us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come
he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in
Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not
your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one
may boast. For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good
works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.
*HYMN OF COMMITMENT – There Is a Balm in Gilead . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #394
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in his wonderful face And the
things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of his glory and grace.
PRAYER AND THE LORD'S PRAYER - (Debtors version) (front of Hymnal, pg. 16)
Response - Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me; Spirit of the living God, Fall
afresh on me; Melt me, mold me, Fill me, use me. Spirit of the living
God, Fall afresh on me.

*OFFERING OF PRAYER (IN UNISON) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Adapted from Psalm 103:1-4
Praise the Lord, O our souls, and all that is within us, praise God’s holy name;
praise the Lord, O our souls, and forget not all God’s benefits. For he forgives
all our sins, and heals all our diseases; he saves our lives from destruction and
crowns us with mercy and loving-kindness. Thanks be to you, O God! In the
name of your Son, our Savior, we pray. Amen.
