SPECIMEN LAKES - Lake 8 is still fishing well, particularly late evening and early morning. Ian Abraham took his 29lb 8oz Mirror from the toilet bank and Ron Harvey banked his 31 pound 8oz Mirror off the road side using the new custom rolled bait that Sandra from Crowborough Tackle has had made up specifically for the conditions and waters here at Frant. Other baits being used are varied and nothing stands out as particularly attractive to the bigger fish. The thing that comes from all the anglers is that persevering with a bait that's not bringing them in is probably not the way to go. Trying something new until you get some knocks has proved the most productive. Maple 8 and Grange have seen good weights in certain parts of the lake. John Lawrie took his 29lb 8oz from Lake 7 using hand rolled krill and plumb boilies MAIN LAKES - Mark Dalzell stood back and watched Ty catch a nice 18lb 4oz Common from lake 4, one of the Car Park lakes using Mainline Cell and it's been good to see some of our younger anglers bringing in some good catches. With the nights now drawing in we're seeing our Perch men returning to fish for these beautiful predators. 2lb and 3lb are catchable from Lakes 1 and 6 with lake 8 providing specimen quality examples ove 5lb. All lakes have been fishing extremely well with both match and pleasure anglers enjoying excellent sport. WILLOW - Biggest carp from Willow over the last few weeks goes to Jack Turner with a 24lbs common along with 6 other carp of 9,11,13,17,18,20lbs Well done Jack. Also Peter Collins who was fishing close to the island landed carp of 15&17lbs and 2 catfish of 29lbs and 36lbs CHAPEL - Best weight this month was 121lbs which was taken on the pole with paste and meat fishing close to the far bank. Carp to 10lbs have been caught on pellet and corn Gold Lake -carp at the moment are feeding very well, one angler took 22 fish, best being a 22lb common. Barry Walsh had a great day with bream up to 10lbs and 6 tench to 9lbs CLUBHOUSE - This lake has produced some beautiful carp and cats this month,the biggest caught was a 24lb common and a 48lb catfish. Our regular Dave Dunn landed 6 carp to 22lbs and 2 catfish of 37lb and 42lbs Terrapin- This is one of our specimen lakes on the complex which holds a large stock of very big carp and catfish. Peter Butler using cell had 4x commons to 38lbs and a 42lb catfish. Ken Miles using pop up's landed 2x mirrors of 23lb and 36lb. Jason WILSON had a good day with cats of 34,42,and 56lbs. MASONS LAKE - Around the pump area is always a good place to try, it’s been producing some fine catches with Mark Lewis landing 12 carp to 26lbs. Darren Taylor caught carp of 13,18,20,24,26lbs on a 24hr ticket.The benefit of this lake is that the car park is very close to the lake so you don't have to lug your tackle too far. BASILS -This lake is worth giving a try as it's still very new to the complex and has been stocked well with some impressive specimens of carp, catfish and tench. As time has gone on the lake has settled down well and has the benefit of only being able to be fished from one bank and has some very large swims. Mick Norris who’s been back again landed 7 carp to 36lbs and a catfish of 42lb not bad for a day ticket. Terry Hills also having a good day with 2 x carp of 25lb and 32lbs and a catfish 39lbs. STEVE'S LAKE - The best carp to come out over the last few weeks goes to Bob Wright with a 34lb common.There have been a lot of good quality carp to mid 20's also being caught from features around the lake.
