WHAT’S HAPPENING @ the Des Moines Public Library october 2014 For library hours, locations, or to preregister for programs, visit our virtual library at www.dmpl.org In a Book Club? If you belong to a book group, check out the library’s collection of book club sets! The library currently offers more than 140 titles in multiple sets that can be checked out for two months at a time. To find a list of all the sets, simply search using the Title field for Book Club Set. The number of titles in each set is specified in the item description and can range from six copies to fifteen copies. The library also offers book discussion sets for teens and children. To review those titles, simply enter Book Club Set (Teen) or Book Club Set (Children’s). There are currently sixteen teen book club sets and nineteen children’s sets available. Best of all, book club sets have been cataloged, making them much easier to find and use. It’s Not Too Soon for Christmas Gift Ideas! Whether you are crafty, clever, or just plain kitschy, you are sure to find hundreds of gift ideas and instructions in the library’s extensive collection of craft books and magazines. There is also a wide selection of resources on crocheting, jewelry making, altered book projects, card-making, wood-working, even duct tape gift ideas.
