The 51 Africa Day was celebrated on 29 May 2014 at the MVM Banquets, Nariman
Point, Mumbai. Africa Day is celebrated as Unification Day.
The year 2014 was declared by the African Union as a “Year of Agriculture & Food
th
Security” marking 10 Anniversary of the adoption of the Comprehensive Africa
Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) that means it is a special year as it is a
base year and launch year for CAADP for the next decade 2014 – 2023. Africa has a
proximately 783 million hectors of arable land (27% of the world total) an employs more
than 70% of the work force. There are total 92 numbers of projects worth 3040.147 million
US $ indicates opportunities in Agro-Technology, Food Processing, Tractors, Fisheries,
Agro-Pestoral, Agro-Equipments, Cattle/animal, water waste management etc.
