All Souls Novena
Starting on 24 October until the Eve of All Souls Day, which takes place on 2 November Say once a day for nine days, O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to
the souls of thy servants and handmaids departed, the remission of all their sins; that
through pious supplications they may obtain the pardon they have always desired. Who
livest and reignest with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without
end. Amen.

Blessed Frassati Potluck & Bible Study– Saturday, Oct. 18th
Please join us! Father Gordon will lead the Blessed Frassati group in a Bible Study
on Saturday, October 18th, in the Parish Hall. There will be a potluck beforehand,
starting at 5pm. The group, centered on our devotion to the Latin Mass, is open to
Mater Dei attendees in their 20s and 30s (married or single), and hosts spiritual and
social events. The group is named after Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, a 24-year old
Italian who died in 1924 and was found incorrupt and beatified in 1990. For more
info please contact us at [email protected]. See you there!!
It is time to submit names for the All Souls list that will be placed on the altar during
the month of November. If you have sent names during the past two years, please do
not send them again. New names will be added to the current list. Email your list to
the parish secretary: [email protected].
All Hallows Eve Party
All Hallows Eve Party, Friday, October 31 from 7-9pm. All Mater Dei Parishioners
welcome! Children are invited to dress as saints and to go ‘A-Souling’ as done in past
years. There will be two boxes in the parish hall through the month of October that
we will be collecting candy and drinks in. We ask 20 pieces of candy per child that
will be ‘A-Souling’. These candies can be labeled with names of deceased who you
wish for people to pray for or just drop off bags of candy labeled with your name. We
ask each family to also drop off a pack of water bottles, juice boxes, or other kid
friendly, non-caffeinated beverages in the box labeled ‘Drinks’. For any questions or
information contact Grace Bezner at [email protected] or 972-554-4800.
