CLUB® NEWS
CALENDAR OF
A WARM
Welcome
Dear Platinum Adventurers,
With the brutal winter behind us, we can get outdoors and enjoy all the
fun and excitement Chicago and the surrounding area has to offer us.
There is so much to do in an exciting city like Chicago and we have a
lot planned for the rest of this year. We are going to the theatre to see
Brigadoon, Fiddler on the Roof, The King and I and a performance of
Cole Porter’s Greatest Hits. If that doesn’t get your toes-a-tappin’, I’m not
sure what will! We will also tour the magnificent Sanfilippo Estate, take an
architectural boat cruise, explore LaSalle County, and visit the Richard H.
Driehaus Museum and Charnley-Persky House. In addition, we will take
a docent led tour of the Illinois Holocaust Museum, get behind the scenes
with the ‘Magic of Macy’s’, enjoy a book dramatization by Barbara Rinella
and more! We will continue our educational presentations at Highland
Park Bank & Trust too. Please read this action packed newsletter and join
in on the fun!
If you’re not a Platinum Adventures member yet, be sure to contact me for
information about the Club. Or, stop at the bank and pick up a brochure.
All events in this newsletter require a reservation, with the exception
of our coin appraisal events. Don’t forget to call or email me with your
reservations for our upcoming events.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.

architecture, decorative arts, historic preservation and the history
of Chicago. The galleries, elegantly furnished with period pieces
selected from the Driehaus Collection, are presented in harmony
with the interiors and surviving furnishings. We will enjoy lunch

Barbara Rinella Book
Dramatization
Enjoy an afternoon watching and listening to Barbara Rinella
Perform a book dramatization of the popular novel, “The Traitors
Wife” by Allison Pataki. This story of Socialite Peggy Shippen,
half the age of Benedict Arnold, seduces and marries him during
his stint as military commander of Philadelphia. Blinded by his
young bride’s beauty and wit, Arnold does not realize that she
harbors a secret: loyalty to the British. Nor does he know that she
hides a past romance with the handsome British spy John Andre.
Peggy watches as her husband, crippled from battle wounds and
in debt from years of service to the colonies, grows ever more
disillusioned with his hero, Washington, and the American cause.
Together with her former love and her disaffected husband,
Peggy hatches the plot to deliver West Point to the British and, in
exchange, win fame and fortune for herself and Arnold. We will

Country Club.
