ZLCS Update October 12, 2014 Visit our website at: www.zlcs.org The latest news about the people and ministries at Zion Lutheran Church & School LWML SUNDAY “Fragrant Sacrifices and Offerings” based on Ephesians 5:2 – “ and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Golf Tournament Update We are pleased to announce that once all the final invoices have been paid, and once we have all the monies in, we should actually surpass last year’s $17,037. Thank you, Zion Family!: LCW Donations: Thanks to Zion’s generous support of our fund raising activities, LCW donated a total of $725 in 2014 to the following organizations: People of the Book Lutheran Outreach (POBLO) Lutheran Association of Missionaries (LAMP), Garden of Innocence, Fallbrook Pregnancy Resource Center, Zion Family Assistance, Zion School Scholarship, Zion School Golf Tournament, Concordia Seminary Scholarships - St. Louis and Ft. Wayne. Mite Box Collection: When we give to the mite box program in support of missions, our Father receives every single mite as a fragrant sacrifice and offering! So far in 2014, Zion’s mite box donations have totaled (will give you this number). By comparison, last year at this time we had contributed $643.78. As LWML begins 72 years of service, Esther Foster wrote the following poem : SEVENTY YEARS OF LWML Seventy years have come and gone, But LWML continues on It got started by a faithful few And with God’s help it grew and grew. He fed us with His holy word. Talk of quitting was never heard. We’re not a club as some might think, For Christ’s living water we must drink To keep ourselves pure of mind And to each other be always kind. We give our mites, we sing and pray, And in God’s love we’ll surely stay. Our mission grants are just a goal for saving yet another soul In faraway places or very near. All creation is oh so dear. When we meet Jesus face to face, our work is done. I rest my case. ZION WORK PARTY Saturday, October 18 8:00-11:00 am Join Eddy to help spruce up our campus.
