About the Indian Valley
CROP Hunger Walk
The Indian Valley CROP Hunger
Walk is actually 3 different events
in one. There is the traditional
long walk (now just a 5K), a short
1-mile walk, and a non-walking
“Rock” option where participants
“Rock” in rocking chairs. All three
events serve to raise funds and
awareness to help end hunger
both globally and
here in the Indian
Valley.

Why Hunger?
Hunger is no longer an “over-there”
issue. The number of people in our area
who are hungry or food insecure is on
the rise. Nationally, 1 in 6 Americans,
face hunger every day.
In Montgomery County alone more than
10% of the total population and almost
15% of children are food insecure.
That’s over 26,000 hungry children
in our communities.
You can walk and raise funds either as
an individual or as part of a team. Pick
up a CROP Hunger Walk Registration
Envelope at your local church, at the
Keystone Opportunity Center or at the
Generations Senior Center— or you can
register for the Souderton PA Walk
online at: www.CROPHungerWalk.org.
Reserve a Rocking Chair
Not able to walk, email Lisa Furbacher
at Generations Senior Center to reserve
your rocking chair for the Rock-a-thon:

Ending Poverty
Around the
World
Over the past 65+
years, Church
World Service has
provided tools of
hope that empower
people to meet their own needs.
This can mean seeds and tools,
wells and water systems, or even
technical training and microenterprise loans. For more about
their work around the world,
please visit: www.cwsglobal.org or
call 800-297-1516.
How to Get Involved
Walk with Us!
Business Sponsorships
Helping The Hungry Here
Over the last 35 years, the Indian Valley
community has raised nearly $300,000
through the CROP Hunger Walk with just
under $40,000 being granted back to
help local residents directly through
Generations of Indian Valley’s Meals on
Wheels and the Keystone Opportunity
Center’s Food Pantry. Over 300 families
and individuals are served on a monthly
basis by these much needed programs.
For $150 your business will be listed on
both the annual T-Shirt (given to every
participant) and the online registration
page. Fill out the form on the back of
this flap. Sponsorship money will first go
towards event costs with any additional
funds being donated to the cause.
Donate a Pantry Item
Material goods like toilet paper, and
shampoo as well as canned goods and
non-perishable food items can be
brought to Souderton Mennonite at 1pm
the day of the event.
