It’s a great opportunity for local groups looking to assist those in need. Projects include creation of meal components for homebound seniors in New London & Windham Counties. Volunteer Opportunities Evening volunteering at the TVCCA Commissary, 81 Stockhouse Rd, Bozrah, CT Between the hours of 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm Minimum commitment of 2 to 3 hour block of time Minimum Volunteer Group of 10 individuals May be opportunity to combine with other volunteer groups. TasksCreate individual fruit cups and/or Seal individual fruit cups Create milk bags for meals Assemble tray meal for homebound on production line Create individual bread bags Day time volunteering at the TVCCA Commissary, 81 Stockhouse Rd, Bozrah, CT • Between the hours of 8:00 am to 11:00am Tuesdays or Thursday Minimum commitment of 1 hour block of time Maximum Volunteer Group Count 1 to 4 TasksAssemble tray meal for homebound on production line Create individual bread bags • Between the hours of 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm Tuesdays or Thursday , 2 hour block of time. One office volunteer needed to make calls to clients and caregivers that were not home at time of delivery. Basic computer skills required. Day time volunteering- Meals on Wheels Delivery Between the hours of 10:00 am and 12:30 pm. Starting location varies between Rose City Senior Center in Norwich and TVCCA Commissary in Bozrah. All Deliveries in Norwich area. On call basis only in Norwich area- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Individual or group flexible to delivery meals to homebound on an on call basis, when regularly scheduled volunteers are unable to deliver. Carnevale Fundraiser- April 2015 Annual program fundraiser- Theme “Carnevale” an Italian street festival indoors! Evening starts off with a sold out crowd of 400 guests enjoying a 24 foot antipasti station, then on to area chefs cooking for each guest as a live band entertains with great music allowing for the night to be danced away. The evening also includes a silent auction, raffle excitement, and Italian desserts galore. Decorations: Assist by donating a centerpiece that is created using specific Decoration Committee Guidelines for size, content, color, and texture. Centerpiece will be used the décor for the fundraiser and will be auctioned at the end of evening. Proceeds will be included in fundraising total and used to serve meals to homebound seniors not covered by our annual fiscal budget. Join decoration committee and assist with room design, creation and set up. Auction: Assist by donating an actionable item for event. Join committee and assist with securing donated auction items for event, organizing and collecting donated items. Assist in auction room the day and evening of event.
