SWATCHHTA ABHIYAN IN K V KATHMANDU

SWATCHHTA ABHIYAN IN K V KATHMANDU
As part of Cleanliness Drive, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has
initiated a Cleanliness Campaign in all Kendriya Vidyalayas. K V
Kathmandu has taken up the ‘Swatchhta Abhiyan’ in true spirit.
Principal, staff and students of K V
Kathmandu were engaged in an intensive
cleaning programme of the school and the
campus on 16th November 2014. In the
Morning
Assembly,
the
Principal
Mrs
Radha
Mahalakshmi
administered an oath as she provided an insight
into the relevance of the Cleanliness Campaign.
‘Clean is the New Green’ is the motto adopted by
students as they vowed to make cleaning a habit.
The Principal and teachers joined hands with the
students in rendering the school clean.
Students and staff enthusiastically took to broom, mop and brush to
clean the furniture, cupboard, floor, walls and display boards of the
classroom. The Vidyalaya wore a new clean look by evening. Every
nook and
corner
including labs,
departments and garden were cleaned and
all waste materials and garbage were
removed. Some of the students along with
the Principal cleaned even the toilets.
A month long activity
schedule has been planned to instill cleanliness as a habit
in children. Students are participating in Slogan writing, Poster making,
Essay Writing and Drawing and painting competition in this connection.
In Morning Assembly various activities like skit, role play and talks are
organized to drive home the theme.
With combined efforts the Vidyalaya looks
forward for a clean and conducive atmosphere to
make educational pursuits more meaningful and
holoistic.
