Central States
Society of Toxicology
Annual Conference
Selecting Model Systems for Toxicology Studies –
“All models are wrong. Some models are useful.”
16

George Edward Pelham Box, 1979
The theme of this year’s conference comes
from a quote by George E.P. Box, English
statistician and expert in quality control and
design of experiments. His famous quote
guides us to practical thinking – even wrong
models can still be useful in contributing to
scientific understanding of the phenomenon
under study.
The Regional Chapters of the Society of Toxicology are an important
part of the organization and provide a friendly milieu for good science
and renewing and making friendships and connections.
We strongly encourage you to become a member of the Central
States Chapter http://www.toxicology.org/ms/join.asp, but even if not
a member, please make every effort to attend our meeting in Kansas
City, Missouri. We have put together an exciting program that will be
of interest to a wide audience of toxicologists and other individuals.
