DYNAMIC POSITIONING CONFERENCE 2014
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
There is nothing static about Dynamic Positioning Technology. It is
constantly evolving through innovations, improvements and
modifications. The best way to keep abreast of the latest
technology, applications and changes is the Annual Dynamic
Positioning Conference in Houston, the world’s leading DP
Conference.
Two days of cutting-edge presentations, exhibits, opportunities for
informal discussions and exchange of knowledge, social gatherings
and comprehensive Proceedings published on the Internet
continue to make the DP Conference a must-attend event for DP
professionals.
This year the Technical Committee has once again put together a
diversified and well-balanced program designed to address the
interests of DP professionals, including designers, DP operators,
support staff, consultants, and vessel managers and owners. In
addition to sessions on Design and Control, Power and Thrusters,
Reliability, Risk and Sensors, this year will include sessions on
Training and Competence and, additionally, Green Initiatives.
WORKSHOP
A one-day workshop (see next page) will be held on Monday,
October 13, the day prior to the official start of the Conference.
Now in its fourth year, these workshops have proved to be both
highly informative and extremely popular.
This year’s workshop will focus on the latest MTS DP Guidance
Documents and will follow a similar format to previous years. Note
that there is limited space available for the workshop, and all
previous workshops sold out. DP Professionals planning on
attending are encouraged register now as it is anticipated that the
workshop will sell out well before October.
GOLF TOURNAMENT

Golf Tournament on October 16.

delegates in a relaxed, social environment. This year’s tournament,
sponsored by Kongsberg, will be held at the Black Horse Golf Club
in Cypress, Texas, The Florida Scramble format tournament will
start at 7:00 AM and will include breakfast, lunch and awards. Cost
is $150 for individuals or $600 for teams of four players. Hole
sponsorships are also available for $200 each.
