Brown’s Builders Supply
The Rose Hill Chamber of Commerce is proud to name Brown’s Builders Supply as our 3rd- quarter 2014 - Business of the
Quarter.
The Brown family and their family owned business, Brown’s Builders Supply, has long been an exceptional part of Rose Hill’s
business community. What started as a small custom-cabinet business in 1936 has evolved through generations of the Brown
family into a full-fledged building supply company providing supplies and services for the Rose Hill/Duplin County area as well
as for the surrounding southeastern communities. Through impeccable local service and competitive pricing Brown’s can
compete with the big box stores any day of the week from right here in Rose Hill, NC.
Brown’s Builders Supply has its roots deeply planted in Rose Hill. Their headquarters is in Rose Hill, as it has been since 1951. In
addition to their headquarters’ location, which serves more as the building supply end of the business, Brown’s has two other
divisions; The Cabinet Gallery at 6738 Netherland Drive, Wilmington, NC and Designer Kitchen and Bath Center at 200
Williamsburg Parkway, Jacksonville, NC.
Brown’s Builders Supply offers a full line of building supplies, including lumber, windows, doors, tools, bricks, paint, power
tools, roofing supplies(metal and shingle),and much, much more.
The Town of Rose Hill has a new
website!!!!!! Visit them at:

For the past eight years the Duplin Times has been proud to
publish the Duplin County Welcome Guide in conjunction
with Duplin County Tourism. We will continue to publish
the Welcome Guide for Tourism to use in attracting visitors
to the county, but the Tourism Authority has requested a
smaller magazine that will be more useful and appealing to
visitors. Because of this decision, advertising space in that
publication will be limited, and the focus of the ads and the
magazine’s content will reflect this change.

NC Poultry Jubilee
Oct. 4th 4pm – 7pm
The Duplin Times staff understands how important
advertising in the Welcome Guide has been to Duplin
County businesses, and how important the glossy magazine
format has been to their advertising image. We are pleased
to announce an alternative venue that will have even more
appeal to the residents of southeastern North Carolina, and
be a better value for their advertising budget in reaching
local residents more likely to patronize their businesses.
This new magazine will have stories with local appeal
centering on food, entertainment, local people and more.
The target publication date for the inaugural fall/winter
issue of SE North Carolina is October 2014, and we have
scheduled a spring/summer edition for April 2015. The
magazine will be free to readers and the distribution area
will be throughout Duplin County, plus Sampson, Wayne,
Lenoir, Onslow, New Hanover and Pender counties through
locations with high traffic counts.
NC Poultry Jubilee
Expect the same quality production that the Duplin County
Welcome Guide has in SE North Carolina magazine. This is
an exciting and important undertaking for our area as we
continue to provide stylish and professional ways for you to
reach customers. For advertising information please contact
Marlane Carcopo at 910-296-0239.

A big shout out goes to Karen Bell, graphic artist for Duplin Winery, and Duplin Winery for their help in designing the rack cards, bill board,
program cover and other graphics for the 2014 NC Poultry Jubilee! Original logo designed by Dori Guthrie(in 2013)of Designs By Dori of
Wallace was incorporated into these bright, beautiful, eye catching designs which are sure to draw in crowds from far and wide. Thanks so
much too Duplin Winery for always supporting the Rose Hill community and for allowing the Poultry Jubilee committee access to such
wonderful talent. If our advertising is any indication of this year’s Jubilee, we can surely count on having the best North Carolina Poultry
Jubilee yet!

This year House of Raeford Farms
began a college scholarship program
for children of associates. Across the
company there were 29 students
who applied for the
awards. Working in partnership with
Scholarship Management Services,
each applicant was evaluated on a
variety of criteria. Final selection
was made by the Board of Directors
of House of Raeford Farms F.L.O.C.K.,
a non-profit organization
serving House of Raeford associates
as well as the communities where
the company has operations. In
August, 14 scholarships for the 20142015 school year were awarded at
$2,500.00 each. There was at least
one scholarship from all of the
company’s complexes and plants
across the southeast U. S. Based on
early responses from award winners,
the program seems to have made a
significant difference in people’s
lives. Applications for the 2015-2016
school year will be accepted in the
spring of next year.
