FINOMIX® HYDROSEAL - HS 5000
Brushable cementitious sealing mortar.
DESCRIPTION
Brushable cementitious sealing mortar, enriched with polymer additives (resins). Composed of highperformance Portland cement, quartz aggregates of selective grain size, specially selected microsilicates, highly
dispersed hydrophobic resins and other enhancing additives.
It presents excellent bonding to typical substrates and excellent resistance to moisture and frost.
APPLICATIONS
Provides water-proofing on concrete surfaces in:
 Basements
 Water tanks
 Foundations
 Wells
 Surfaces of concrete, plaster, bricks etc. to old and new constructions
PROPERTIES




Excellent water-repellence.
Suitable for positive and negative hydrostatic pressures.
Very good resistance to moisture, solvents and alkali.
Resistance to ageing.
APPLICATION METHOD




Surfaces should be clean and free from dust, grease and other residual materials. Form wires exceeding
from concrete should be cut 1.5-2.0 cm deep. Repair the cavities left, using the RP 4000 repairing
mortar.
Before application, all surfaces should be dampened well and excess water should be drained
afterwards.
Add the bag's content (25kg) into approx. 6.25-6.50kg of clean water under continuous stirring, until
you obtain a uniform lump-free mixture. We recommend the use of a low speed power drill (300 r.p.m).
Then, leave the mixture to mature for about 5-10 min. and stir again.
The material is applied by brush or trowel in 2 or more layers, depending on the water effect. Apply
each new coating when the previous has dried, but before it is completely hardened. If necessary,
slightly dampen the previous layer but without flushing it. Successive layers should be applied
crosswise, ensuring that any gaps are fully covered.
ELASTIFICATION - REINFORCEMENT
The addition of 3-6kg of FINOFLEX replacing part of the mixing water of HS 5000 can significantly enhance
the final product's properties, such as wear resistance, bonding, water impermeability, flexibility etc.
RECOMMENDATIONS

Do not mix the product with dirty or salty water.
FINOMIX® HYDROSEAL - HS 5000 1/3


During the application, temperature should be between +5ºC and +35ºC.
At high temperatures or strong winds, make sure to dampen the surfaces after application, in order to
prevent premature drying of the material which may compromise the properties of the product.

conditions in the manufacture plant (temperature, humidity, ventilation, substrate absorption) may affect the properties of the material.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
The product HS 5000 contains cement which reacts as alkaline with water and perspiration, and may cause
allergies and/or irritation.
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment for eyes and skin (protective clothing, gloves and
goggles).
If skin contact occurs, rinse well with plenty of clean water.
In case of eye contact, get medical advice immediately.
CONSUMPTION
Approx. 1.0-1.5 kg/m2 per coating 1mm thick.
The total consumption and thickness of the material depend on the waterproofing requirements.
SHELF LIFE
At least 12 months from date of production when stored in original unopened packaging, in places protected
from moisture and frost.
