GSA MEETING, Wednesday 10/22
GSA staff and students - We're going to meet at milkbreak on Wednesday (10/22) to plan for Ally Day. Please come to A-3 if you

From Mrs. Meade
ATTENTION EMS VETERANS, Thursday 10/23
EMS Veterans: If you are planning to visit EMS this week during your days off, you will need to plan your visit on
Thursday, October 23 from noon-1pm. Ms. Joly-Lowdermilk asks that you email her (or me) to let her know that you are coming and that you check-in at the main office when
you arrive. She will make sure that the dining room makes enough lunch so you can stay for lunch on Thursday. Please visit only on Thursday.
NOV 1 SATURDAY SCHOOL SIGN-UPS The sign-up sheets for November Saturday School will be in the dining room until Wednesday, October 22. Your tutorial or
grammar and comp teacher should read you the list of activities and should post the list in your classroom. ONLY YOU should write your name on an activity sheet. You
should write your name ONLY IN A BOX – please do not write in the margin of the page. The following students have already been signed-up for a mandatory activity and
should check the sign-up sheets to find their names: half of the freshman class for a transition workshop, seniors taking the ACTs, all of the juniors for a health workshop, and
those needing PE credit. If you need help or have questions, check with Mrs. Meade.
From Mr. Talbot
STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS
Hello, Landmark Community… The Student Council has a few pieces of information we'd like to share with faculty and students.
o
First of all, we want to thank everyone for a successful Dress Down Day last Friday. We met and decided that the funds raised will be split between the
Breast Cancer Research Foundation and an Eagle Scout project that Mr. Sean Branagan will be completing on our campus.
o
Secondly, the Student Council will be holding our Parents’ Day raffle on Thursday and Friday of this week. We want to encourage students to have
their parents buy a raffle ticket (or 6!) from a Student Council representative when they are on campus at the end of this week. There will be a basket
geared towards parents and a basket geared toward students, so there's something for everyone!
o
Finally, on Friday, October 31st, the Student Council will hold their annual Halloween Costume contest at Milkbreak. If you would like to participate,
simply dress up and come to the cafeteria for judging by an all-star panel. You have the chance to win cash prizes! If you are not participating, you are
expected to be in dress code, as this is not a dress down day.
AMERICAN RED CROSS FALL BLOOD DRIVE Faculty and Students: The American Red Cross Fall Blood Drive will be held on Monday, November 3rd in the Ansara
Wrestling Room, from 8am-1pm. We are looking to get as many people involved in this special community service opportunity, as donating blood can literally save lives! If
you are 16 years of age or older, you are potentially eligible to donate, and if you've never donated blood before there's no time like the present. If you can't give blood, there
are also volunteer opportunities as well. Just get involved!
Mr. Talbot and Mrs. M-C will station themselves in the cafeteria during milkbreaks and lunches again this week so that they can answer questions about the blood
drive and sign people up. Faculty: the donation schedule will be shared with you via Google Drive, so please sign yourselves up!
STUDENTS WHO ARE 18 YEARS OF AGE AND REGISTERED TO VOTE This is a reminder that there is a state election on Tuesday, November 4th. If you are a boarder
and will not be able to go home to vote in your town, you need to request an absentee ballot before the election in order to cast a ballot. If you need help with this process,
contact Mr. Talbot.
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS
Did you know that the Landmark Performing Arts Department is going to be putting on a hilarious show entitled "The Complete History of
America (Abridged)" from November 13th to the 15th? Well, they are and you should get excited. The show is really funny, but you need to have some background knowledge
on the history of America in order to understand all the jokes.
Mr. Egan, who is an intern from Endicott College, has put together a bulletin board matching game in the Dudley Classroom building to raise awareness about
some of the people, events and concepts that will be featured in the play. Go take a look (it's across from the Student Council plaques) and challenge yourself to match some
visuals with their corresponding definitions. Please don't disturb other people's guesses! We'll keep resetting it through the next couple of weeks!
From Rev. Ferguson
ALL STUDENTS GOING TO SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Please check your LMK email accounts for a note from me and attachment. I want to confirm your participation as
well as finalize the groups. Please get back to me and confirm your participation (or if you are not going, let me know that too!). Also confirm your groups.
INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING AT A DAY CARE CENTER OR AN ANIMAL SHELTER?
If you are interested in signing up to help at Beverly Children's Learning
Center (an after school child day care center) or Animal Aid (animal shelter in Gloucester) for the winter season, please respond to this email so I can get you an application.
Thank you.
Rev. Ferguson
