Guffei is the General
Manager of Vickar
Nissan. Beginning in
automotive sales twelve
years
ago,
Guffei
gained experience and
rose to management
level. When the opportunity arose to be
involved
with
the
Vickar family of dealerships, he knew it was the right time to make a
change. Vickar had acquired a Nissan dealership on Regent and was in the process of redesigning it to better serve their customers. They
hired Guffei to manage the transition, to
improve processes and develop a good team.
“That’s what I like about the Vickar businesses
– they are family owned, a good group of
people to work with, and they are well-run
businesses,” says Guffei.
Vickar Nissan is also very involved in the community, sponsoring a variety of community
events and charities. Siloam Mission and the
Children’s Hospital are two of many that benefit from Vickar Nissan’s generous donations.

The Guffei family has also become involved in
the community of La Salle since relocating
from Winnipeg in January 2014. He has
coached soccer, become a member of the La
Salle Chamber of Commerce, donated to the
LSCF Show and Shine, and supported the
community’s baseball tournament.

The Vickar motto reads “Where Customers Send Their Friends.” That is just
what Guffei says sets Vickar Nissan apart from
its competitors. “It’s not just about selling a car.
It’s also about the service that we provide after
the sale, and the way that we take care of our
customers long-term. It’s about the way that
we take care of the friends and family that they
refer,” he asserts. “[It’s about] the way that
people are treated when they walk in our doors,
the way our employees make them feel.”

In the four years under his guidance, Vickar
Nissan has experienced significant and steady
growth. Nissan is the fastest growing automotive brand in Canada, with Winnipeg topping
the sales charts. The top-selling Altima, Pathfinder, the newly redesigned Rogue, and the
new compact Micra are just a few of the
options. Guffei encourages local residents to
visit Vickar Nissan and check out the 2014
model clearouts.

Christianson Making His
Mark in the Real Estate
World
if
you look in the top
ten percent of Manitoba Realtors, Terry
Christianson’s
name
will be there. In almost
seven years in the industry, Christianson has
risen quickly to the top
of
his
profession.
When his wife, Valerie,
handed him a newspaper clipping about RE/MAX in 2008, he
was involved in the travel industry. But the
time was right, and he hasn’t looked back. In
fact, his reputation has earned him the Marketplace Trust Award with the Better Business Bureau the last two years and a nomination for the upcoming 2014 award.
Christianson sees his job not as selling
homes, but helping people get into homes.
“If you’re buying, I will be there to guide
you. Whether you look at two homes or forty
homes, I will be there to help you find the
right home.” With the rapid increase in new
developments in south Winnipeg and a
corresponding increase in immigration,
Christianson is prepared to help. He has
built a very diverse team so that Chinese,
Filipino, East Indian, French and English
clients receive service in their own languages.
Although the majority of Christianson’s
business is currently based in Winnipeg, his
rural clientele is increasing as well. He moved
to La Salle, Manitoba over two years ago,
and enjoys the small-town feel and the larger
properties in the area. “It’s easy to promote
beautiful, rural homes. It’s easy to promote
what you love,” says Christianson.
Working in the largest RE/MAX office in
Winnipeg means that Christianson can offer
his clients everything they need within the
office. Once they’ve selected a home, his
office provides legal counsel, home insurance
and mortgage broker services. For first-time
home buyers in particular, this is invaluable
in navigating the journey to home ownership.
Investing in his community has always been a
natural part of life for Christianson. His list
of volunteer activities is long and varied, and
includes driving bus for an Irish dance
troupe, cleaning up streets and yards with
Adopt-a-Block, and establishing the
RE/MAX Cup Street Hockey Tournament.
Local Storage Facility
Expands to Accommodate
Increased Demand
the
demand for good storage options
continues to increase, and La Salle Storage
is responding. When owners Jared &
Marni Cormier started this business in
2008, the vision was simple: to provide a
needed service for area residents. They had
recently purchased a farmyard, so they had
the space. The question was, how to make it work?
Christianson is available to his clients whenever they need. “Call me anytime,” he says.
“I will be open and honest with you. I do this
because I care about people. And when you
care about people, you do the right thing.”
To contact Terry Christianson for advice
or to retain his services, visit his website
winnipegmanitobahomesforsale.com or call
him directly at 204-226-7190.
Cormier set about constructing
a gated compound, complete
with video surveillance and key
fob access for clients. But they
didn’t want this to be just
another run-of-the-mill storage
facility. Many storage lots pack
in the campers in multiple
layers requiring arrangements to be made in
advance to pick up or drop off the camper.
“We designed our facility to accommodate
large campers and RVs.
There is ample space to back even the biggest
units into the assigned stalls,” says Cormier.
“The storage lot is accessible at all times with
the key fob gate entry system – no need to
call in advance.”
With reasonable prices, accessibility, assigned
parking stalls and a secure facility away from
the city, La Salle Storage is a premium option
for clients. If you want to store seasonal
items, clear out your garage, downsize or
simply de-clutter, La Salle Storage also has
self-storage units. Plenty of customers start
out storing their belongings while they move
in or out of town, and become long-term
customers due to a great experience. “We
(the owners) live on the property. This is a
family-run business, and we develop
long-standing relationships with the majority
of our clients,” says Cormier.
Most of the growth La Salle
Storage has experienced is due
to word-of-mouth. Apparently
it works – the most recent
expansion added space for
fifty-two campers and more
self-storage units as well. “Fall is
a busy time for us as people
scramble to put their stuff away before the
snow arrives,” states Cormier. So this is it,
folks. If you need storage, don’t delay;
Winter is on its way!
