AUTUMN NEWSLETTER
RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIPS AT THE AGM
Welcome to the Autumn Newsletter … and hasn’t it been a great summer for our rallies ? The Holiday Rallies at the Isle of Wight and Globe Vale
Holiday Park were both very well attended, and special thanks must go to the Marshalls of these Rallies, who all did a marvellous job for the Club.
There have also been some great themed weekend rally’s that were equally well attended. The Bearley American Independence themed Rally
(aka Carol Bunn’s 50th Birthday Party) went down very well, with numerous people donning American (and Birthday) regalia.
Two of our themed ‘Speciality Rally’s’ went down really well too … The Ciderfest 2014 Rally at Westons Cider Mill was really well supported, with
over 30 different Ciders Tasted on the Cheese, Biscuit & Cider Night in the Party Tent on the Saturday. At the Wood Farm Brewery Rally, we
found a real gem of a site, with excellent CAMRA Listed Beers and Ales on tap, and a super restaurant serving up some lovely meals. We are sure
to be back on these sites again in the future.
Greenhills, Warton and Fir Tree Farm provided some relaxation time, with very good attendances and some lovely social evenings on each.
Our Annual LRCCC Fishing Contest was hosted at our favourite fishing venue at Five Lakes, Wolvey, in September, and was enjoyed by all who
attended. Nick Proctor came out on top as our LRCCC 2014 Fishing Champion, taking First Prize. Dave Gumbley came in second, and last year’s
Champion, Jean Rotheram, was third. Paul Swindale finished ½ an ounce in front of good friend Steve Bates. Well done to all those who competed.
Again, many thanks to the Marshalls on all these rallies for putting on some great entertainment and games for our members to enjoy.
The Youth Rally at Kingsbury Water Ski Centre was a real success, with an excellent turn out and some lovely weather. Everyone enjoyed the
Sports Day, with some brilliant fun had with the Space Hoppers, and the children all loved their free Space Hopper Shirts for being on the Rally.
Ellen and Victoria lined up some games on the Saturday Night, which was a great laugh, especially Chubby Bunny, won by Joy Swindale.
Congratulations to Paul Hant and John Heath, who did their respective Ice Bucket Challenges at this rally, and in doing so created a BL Association
record for the number of buckets of Ice Water thrown over them - 13 in total (which also included water filled into Dustbins, Mop Buckets, etc)
AGM RALLY - OCTOBER 2014 – STRATFORD RACE COURSE: The good news is that we now have the main Hospitality Suite. This will enable us to
facilitate any members who just want to attend the AGM during the day, and it will also enable us to offer better (and warmer) options for our
supporting activities and Entertainment programmes over the weekend. Those of you who visit our website Entertainment page, and our
Facebook page, will know that we are delighted to have secured The Occasions for our main Saturday Night entertainment, so a party atmosphere
is assured. We are also pleased to announce that Jackie Tierney’s Nephew, Chris Tierney, is going to do a spot for us on the Friday night. This Rally
is now Fully Booked, with all 80 spaces now being taken. The Chairlady and Committee would like to thank all of you for your superb support.
CHRISTMAS PARTY RALLY: 12-14 December 2014 – Heart of England School, Balsall Common: A great day of Entertainment lined up for the
Children on the Saturday afternoon, with Animal Mania coming in to Entertain us. Your chance to meet and hold a selection of animals from
Lizards, Snakes, Tortoises, Bugs, Exotic Mice, Frogs and Toads, Chickens, Ducks, Baby Rabbits and Guinea Pigs, Chinchillas, Giant Rabbit, a descented Skunk, Meerkats, Coatimundi, Silver Foxes, Civets, Raccoon Dog and Sugar Gliders. We then finish the afternoon activities with a special
visit from Santa. There will also be Arts and Crafts, and Food & Drinks for the Children. On the night, we welcome OTC who are led by ex-Highly
Strung lead singer, Richard. Highly Strung have unfortunately disbanded after going down a storm at last years’ Christmas Party, so we have
booked OTC to give us a brilliant LRCCC Christmas Party Night. Thank you again for your brilliant support as this rally is now Fully Booked.

ENTERTAINMENT AND SPECIAL EVENTS RALLIES: As you will have seen from the Summer Newsletter, we
have a superb selection of Rally’s booked for 2015. We have classified some of them as ‘LRCCC Speciality
Rally’s’ … which are Rally’s which have something special going on locally, such as Air Shows, Beer Festivals,
Town Carnivals or special events such as the Severn Valley Railway 50th Anniversary, and the St Patricks and
St Georges Day Rally’s.
The ‘2015 Signature Rally’ artists have been booked … and the line-up is sure to have you heading for your
laptops and tablets to book online, or zooming your rally slips off come January’s bookings date. We are sure
that across the May Day weekend, there will be something for everyone, with a 12 stall market being planned
for the Sunday, as well as one of the latest big screen hits for the kids and grown-ups alike. Don’t forget, this
event is limited to 70 units, so don’t miss out on being part of this much talked about Entertainment Rally.
The complete 2015 Entertainment Rally Programme will be announced at the AGM Rally on the Saturday
Night, and we are sure that you will find the line-up is mouth-watering. While we are touching on the AGM
Rally, there is also some ground breaking club news to be announced at the AGM Meeting, which is the result
of nine months of hard work behind the scenes … so make sure you are there to hear it first !!
SALES & PROMOTIONAL ITEMS: LRCCC have items on sale now at reasonable prices, so please feel free to
take a look and support the club. David Gumbley will be selling these items on our Rallies. We have
introduced a number of brand new LRCCC promotional items such as Air Fresheners (see photo), LRCCC
Trolley Coins, Club Pens, Hooded Tops, Sweatshirts, Polo Shirts, Woolley Hats, Caps, etc, and these are
available from Dave Gumbley (Caps, Woolly Hats and General Sales Items) and Claire Heath (clothing only).
The first batch of Caps sold out straight away, and more are now in stock in a range of colours. A number of
Polo shirts have been ordered for stock in a variety of colours and sizes, and these will be available for
purchase on the AGM Rally in October. Other colours and sizes are available to order from Claire Heath.
BELOW: Our new Club Air Freshener
We are still looking into the feasibility of introducing a ‘Club Shop’ page on the website with Paul Biddle, and
are currently looking in to Paypal and Smartphone Card Payment options to take this project forward.
RALLY MARSHALLS: There are still 2015 Rallies that require Marshalls, so please take a look at the list via the
website or Facebook page, and contact Julie Derbyshire if you are interested in becoming a Rally Marshall.
To be fair to your Marshalls, it would be greatly appreciated if you can contact them on the Club Mobile to
let them know if you are going to be arriving late, or if you can’t make it. We are only a phone call away.
SITE RULES: Please remember, ball games are not allowed between or around the Caravans. Parents please
be vigilant when your children are playing with balls to ensure that this rule is upheld.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: WASTE WATER CONTAINERS (WASTEMASTER):
There have been a number of reported incidents of Wastemasters not being used correctly on
sites, including reports from our own members on our recent holiday Rally at the Isle of Wight.
Please ensure all of your waste water is collected and disposed of in accordance with BL
Association regulations. Please refer to page 6 of your BL Rally Book, subsection (j). There has
been debate around the Rally Fields regarding differing site owner regulations. In order to ensure
a consistent policy on this matter, LRCCC insists that all Waste Water Containers be emptied in
waste water facilities provided, not alongside caravans on the rally field and not in hedges.
CARAVAN SAFETY: Please ensure that all occupants of your caravans know the location of your Fire Extinguisher and First Aid Kits. Ensure that
your Fire Extinguisher, Bucket or Blankets are not locked away in the front box, or in the car. If a Fire should break out you will need it readily
available. There have been a number of Caravan fires reported during the summer. Caravan fires spread quickly - keep your family safe !!
DON’T FORGET – Keep up to date by visiting our Website at www.lrccc.co.uk and our Facebook Page. HAPPY CAMPING EVERYONE !!
