Holiday Rambler Recreational Vehicle Club, Inc. Crossroads of America Volume VI No. 42 George Ebaugh #95128 National Director Region V “acting” Indiana State Manager 282 N Pleasant Run Crawfordsville, IN 47933 765-225-1038 [email protected] November 2014 The camping season is over for 2014. It looks like Winter has arrived. We are “almost” caught up from the activities of the summer. If you did not attend the 2014 Eastern International Rally, in Fairlea, WV, you missed a good rally. I will not recap it here, as you will be receiving your Nov/Dec issue of Ramblings soon and it contains several good articles about the rally. One thing, which has to be mentioned, was the stirring flag ceremony, presented by the Retired Military Chapter to close the rally. The program included a reading explaining each fold of the flag and a demonstration of the folding of the American Flag. They also honored four of our attending members who are WW II veterans. Charity donations at the rally were: Scholarship Fund - $1,710.00 Habitat for Humanity—$814 raffle ticket sales and a $100 donation from Chapter 400, Fulltime Ramblers Make-A-Wish—$1,044.00. Also, a Quilt with all 50 states sewed in brought $320.00, for a total of $1,364 to MAW of West Virginia. This Quilt was donated by Quilters Anonymous of Arizona Quilts-n-Covers Project — 273 blankets. Donations now total 13,273 Quilts-n-Covers over 14 years at various rallies and events. The Board of Directors made two decisions this year to help the club as we face new situations. The first decision was a motion to change the duration of an appointed Director to a Vacancy on the National Board, changing Paragraph 10.11 to read: “An Appointee or the Appointee’s Spouse may seek another term as National Director even if the appointment makes the term limit potentially up to six (6) years if the Appointee choses to run for office at the end of the appointment term. Under no circumstances will a National Director have a term greater than six (6) years. The second decision deals with the problem of no towables and other specific models of motorhomes being built by ARG. A motion was made to allow former HRRVC Members to attend HRRVC National and International Rallies. Any former member of HRRVC now owning RV’s Manufactured by a company other than Holiday Rambler will be able to attend one of the afore mentioned events by paying a rate equal to the prevailing annual dues in addition to the normal event fee. The additional fee will be paid to the HRRVC. This will enable that former member to attend any or all of the National/International Rallies during the following 12 months. This does not enable the former member to become a member of the Club or any Chapter. This motion does not in any way change the previous authorization whereby HRRVC Chapters, States and Regions can invite owners of RV’s Manufactured by a company other than Holiday Rambler, to attend their Rallies/Events. If you are not aware, I resigned as Indiana State Manager, prior to the Eastern International Rally. This was required before I could be installed as National Director Region V. To-date no one has agreed to accept the position of Indiana State Manager. Indiana needs someone to step forward and assume the position. In the interim I will serve as “acting” State Manager, per HRRVC regulations. My duties as Region Director, National Treasurer and Chairman in charge of Ramblings magazine will limit the time I can devote as “acting” State Manager. If you or someone you know of would be willing to accept the position of Indiana State Manager, please contact me.
