On behalf of Alpine Canada Alpin, I am writing to thank you for your ongoing support of ski racing in Canada. As you know, British Columbia has had a rich history of developing world-class ski racers who have accomplished great success with Alpine Canada at the World Cup, World Championship and Olympics. This past February, our alpine, para-alpine and ski cross teams secured Eleven Olympic and Paralympic podiums, more then any other Canadian winter sports discipline. Our athletes’ accomplishments are due to the support we receive from the extended Alpine Canada family. Our athletes’ success can be attributed to the passionate commitment of parents and families, as well as ski clubs and your provincial ski association. For this we owe you our deepest gratitude. The results our athletes achieved this past season is a reminder of how sport can inspire and motivate a community to come together to enable our athletes to win on the world stage! In partnership with B.C. Alpine, we thank you for your continued support for our sport. Her profile extends beyond the sporting world, having worked with top fashion photographers, strolled down a runway in New York and starred in major advertising campaigns. McIvor, who grew up in Whistler chasing boys down the hill on skis and mountain bikes, is a former ski cross world champion and X Games silver medalist. Morgan Pridy – Whistler, BC (Whistler Mountain Ski Club) A young speed skier from Whistler, B.C., Pridy enjoyed a breakthrough 201213 season as he claimed six Nor-Am Cup podiums and won the super-G and super combined titles. The former B.C. Ski Team member comes from a skiing family. Robbie Dixon – Whistler, BC (Whistler Mountain Ski Club) One of Canada’s most gifted speed skiers, Dixon has come agonizingly close to a first career World Cup podium and it may only be a matter of time before he joins the ranks of the Canadian Cowboys. The fun-loving Whistler, B.C., native, who made his Olympic debut on his home hill in 2010, has 11 top-10 finishes on the World Cup circuit. Dixon suffered a serious leg injury before the start of the 2012-13 season and is working his way back to fitness. Ben Thomsen – Invermere, BC (Windermere) Thomsen’s emergence as a World Cup star would not have been possible without great perseverance and self-belief. With no team, no coach and no sponsors, he worked a series of construction and landscaping jobs to keep chasing his dream of joining the ranks of the elite. He had four top-20 World Cup and world championship results in 2010-11 and got his reward when he was named to the Canadian Alpine Ski Team in the spring of 2011. Technically-gifted and known for being fearless, he seems to thrive on the world's most challenging courses. In February 2012, Thomsen announced his arrival as a major talent with second-place finish in a World Cup downhill in Sochi, Russia. P EAK TO P EAK A UCTION Live Auction Items for 2014 1.
