A PRODUCTION BY THE BLACK BOX DANCE COMPANY AND BALLET JOVEM PALÁCIO DAS ARTES Viva, Vive! A TRIBUTE TO DANCE, LIFE AND LOVE ... TOUR PERFORMANCE SEASON 2014/2015 © Foto Paulo Lacerda Marie Brolin-Tani CHOREOGRAPHY Alessandro Pereira, Melody Putu og Tindaro Silvano ARTISTIC DIRECTOR / CHOREOGRAPHER “Viva, Vive!” (Live Life!) is three emotional ballets in one evening with love, passion, mystery, sport, young energy and where the Black Box Company’s dancers meet some of the most talented from Brazil! Four choreographers from Brazil, Denmark, Sweden and South Africa present their interpretation of powerful contemporary dance to the rhythms and tones of, among others, Egberto Gismonti, Arvo Pärt, Munch and Miriam Makeba. IMPROMPTU Choreography: Tindaro Silvano Music: Composed by Egberto Gismonti Lighting design: Mårten Axelsson Costume design: Marco Paulo Rolla The show starts with “Impromptu”. In this action-packed choreography the dancers move like the Brazilian city nightlife - bubbling with young energy, minutely choreographed, but with the feeling of freedom and improvisation: just like Impromptu! BEING ME – BEING YOU Choreography: Melody Putu and Marie Brolin-Tani Music: Nordic folkmusic/film music in audio collage by Henrik Munch Lighting design: Hans Olof-Tani/Mårten Axelsson Costume design: Åsa Gjerstad The second piece is called “BEING ME - BEING YOU” and is a choreography of identity and young love, and how to maintain your individuality and always remember who you are and where you came from even when you are TWO. RITES Choreography: Alessandro Sousa Pereira Music: Brazilian traditional music remixed by Ricardo Sousa Lighting design: Mårten Axelsson Costume design: Åsa Gjerstad Wherever in the world you come from, the human life is filled with ritual repetitions. In this choreography people from different cultures and backgrounds are brought together and despite their differences in religion, faith and celebration of events, you will see that there is a similarity.
