Puppy Sweepstakes
The Sweepstakes is open to all owners of Shetland Sheepdogs 6 months and under 18 months of
age on the day of the show. All entries for the Sweepstakes must also be entered in a regular
class. The entry fee is $ 15.00 for each dog entered in the Sweepstakes Class. The entry must be
made at the same time and on the same entry form and include a space for “Additional Class:.
The Sweepstakes classes will be judged prior to Regular Breed Classes. The Sweepstakes include
the following classes divided by sex:
6 mos. to 9 mos.
9 mos. to 12 mos.
12 mos to 18 mos
Prize Money: 35% of total entry fees will be retained by the Club for expenses. The remaining
65% will be divided as follows:
First in each Sweepstakes class.........................15% of class entries
Best In Sweepstakes.............................................50% of class entries

AWARD OF MERIT
The Shetland Sheepdog Club of Hawaii offers up to three Awards of Merit. These are awarded at
the sole discretion of the judge who may award one, two or none. The number of AOM rosettes
awarded are based 10% of the regular class entries to a max of 3. The Award recognized those
dogs and / or bitches which were in serious contention for the top honors during Best of Breed
competition. The Award is a rosette.

The Shetland Sheepdog Club of Hawaii, reserves the right to substitute trophies equal to or greater than the value of the mentioned trophies. Unless otherwise noted the following trophies are
donated by the generous contributions to the trophy fund.

Best Bred-by Exhibitor in Specialty
The first place winner of the Bred-by Exhibitor classes will automatically be
eligible for the Best Bred-by Exhibitor in Specialty Competition. Champions of
Record that are breeder-owner-handled and entered in the Best of Breed competition may also enter the Best Bred by Exhibitor in Specialty as a second
entry for an additional class entry fee of $15.
After Best of Breed Competition is completed, the judge will select from the
Class Bred-by Exhibitor Class winners and the additional entry from the Best
of Breed for the Best Bred-by Exhibitor.

Best Bred by Exhibitor. 12-18 month classes are adults for entry fee purposes.

checks & money orders payable to: Shetland Sheepdog Club of Hawaii
Fax Entries: 877-667-4304. Both sides of the entry form must be faxed. Visa/Master Card number
and expiration date, as well as the printed cardholder's name must be included. Fax entries must be
received by the closing hour and date. Fax fee: $4.00 per entry in addition to entry fee.
On-Line Entries can be taken at www.gordonshowsec.info On-Line Fee: $4.00 per entry in
addition to entry fee.
Telephone, telegraph and unsigned entries CANNOT be accepted.
Entry fee shall not be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a Veterinarian or Judge, or barred. Canadian exhibitors must make fees payable in US funds.
Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and photocopies of the entry without the Agreement
and Rules from the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Errors on Entry Blanks: Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever
may make such errors, and no entry fee will be
refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date.
Show-giving Club, Show Secretary, their agents, employees, etc. assume no responsibility for
any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or any of their dogs, or property,
and further assume no responsibility for injury to children under the control of parents or guardians.
A recording fee of 50 cents and an event fee of $3.00 will be required for each dog entered at
any licensed or Member Club, Show, Obedience Trial, or Tracking Test. This fee is to be collected
by the Show-giving Club and paid to AKC. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show,
the fee is collected on the first entry only. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 14, Section 2)
All dogs must be held on leash except when in the exercise area or crated.
Grooming is outdoors. Exhibitors are responsible for clean conditions in and around their
crates and grooming areas.
Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class.
No entry shall be made or accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance.
Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure their dogs are free of
internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations.
Judging schedule and map to the show site will be mailed as soon as possible after the closing
of entries.
If an entry in the regular puppy classes is awarded Best of Breed or Best of Winners it will automatically be Best Puppy.
