PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
SATURDAY 8TH NOVEMBER: SCHOOL SOCIAL NIGHT
Don't forget... Early next term the school social event of the year is on in the school hall !! This year's
theme is "Countdown" and the night will be full of dancing, prizes and pop rock! So get your tables of 12
together - tickets will be limited and go on sale this week.
MCMILLAN RD PARKING
McMillan Rd is a no parking drop-off and pick-up zone in the mornings before school and for pick-up in
the afternoon.
The road rule is:
You must not stop for more than two minutes in a No Parking area. You must remain in or within three
metres of the vehicle. Hours of operations may apply to some signs. This means restrictions apply for
those times only. Mobility Parking Permit holders are allowed to park for up to five minutes

The Guitar Group had a great time at The Concourse Concert. We will be giving
another concert near end of term. There are currently a few spots available for

New footpath
You may have noticed that Willoughby City Council very generously repaired and widened the
footpath on Abbott Road at the front of the school and laid new turf. The new drain will stop
puddles forming and the new pavement will reduce dust where the grass won’t grow.
Please walk on the paths not the new turf, gardens or mulch.
What a wonderful improvement to our school environment!

volunteers in the canteen for Term 4. If you haven't volunteered before, we'd love to see you in
the canteen and our canteen manager will happily show you what to do. If you have any special
requests just let her know (eg. you do not have to handle meat).

New Tuesday Meal Deal
If you are already missing Michele’s warm winter soups, then
take heart, as she’s thought up a new Tuesday meal deal – a
lamb kebab and an apple slinky.
The kebabs will be made with pure lamb mince, cooked into
patties and placed in a wrap along with some hummus and
tabouli.
Strings News
For those who are interested in learning string instruments, please return the application forms to the Red
letter box by 17 Oct. Try-out confirmation will be sent to all applicants by the end of October.

23 Oct (Thu) String Group Photography. All students should wear full summer uniform. Further detail
goes home soon.
4 Nov (Tues) Annual General Meeting for the Strings program will be held at 6:30pm at school (venue
tbc). This is the time when the committee discusses how all our 3 ensembles went over the year, when
decisions are made for the program next year and committee members are elected. It’s your chance to
find out what happens behind the scenes and make a contribution if you want to!
5 Nov (Wed) Senior String performs on the Kindy Orientation Day 9:30 am. All SS students should wear
their full summer uniform.
