This past weekend Perry, Cindy, Steve and I went to the Grande Finale
Fly in Cruise In Car show at the Sidney Air port. They had a great turn out,
there was 300+ cars. It was cool to see so many different cars then we normally
see. Perry was approached by Representatives from the Norwich car museum,
they asked if he would be interested in putting his car in their muscle car display.
As I am sure you all can imagine he was literally in 7th heaven, then a neighbor of
The airport gave him a plaque with his car on it! I worked hard at cleaning my
car up to help me keep warm. I was pleasantly surprised with a top 25 trophy!
On the way home we stopped at a diner in Whitney Point, had a great dinner with
awesome home made pie for just $1.00! Who doesn’t love pie!!
Benefits of Owning a Pet
If you’re a pet owner, you know there’s nothing better than spending time with your
dog or cat (or other animal). Your pet gives you unconditional love; if you’re in a bad
mood, your pet seems to sense it and responds in a way that usually make you feel
better quickly. If you’re not a pet owner, some clinical research on the benefits of pet
ownership may make you change your mind.
There’s an area of science called Animal Assisted Therapy that studies a human’s physical and
mental reaction to having pets. A recent review of published studies found that pets help your
health in many different ways. For example, patients in a long-term psychiatric facility increased
their ability to interact with others when pets were around. In senior-citizen homes, pets were
shown to help residents be more social and less depressed.
Studies even show that pets help your heart. The American Heart Association (AHA) reports
studies showing that pet owners may have a lowered risk of heart disease. Pet owners are usually
more active, playing with their pets or taking them for walks. One report showed that dog owners
were 54 percent more likely to get the level of physical activity recommended. The AHA points out
that exercise is good for you, whether you own a pet or not. If you aren’t currently a pet owner and
you need some exercise, having a dog or cat to play with daily might change your health in a very
positive way.

I’d appreciate you spreading the word to the POCI brethren about the automatic trans that I’ll have available very
shortly. I am selling the GM Turbo-Hydramatic (TH)-400 automatic transmission from my 1966 Pontiac 2+2 to convert it
back to a manual transmission, as it was built. The TH-400 is the transmission that's been in the car since I purchased
it ten years ago but being a transplant, I have no idea what the model year is of the transmission itself. I would like to
"pre-sell" the transmission before it is removed from the car so that any potential buyer knows what they are getting i.e. no "guesswork" or taking my word alone on how well it performed before being pulled from the car. This TH-400
fits the FULL SIZE GM model line-up in the Buick / Olds / Pontiac families (e.g., Electra, 88, Cat/Bonne/GP) as it has the
correct long tail shaft that these cars require (i.e., it is NOT correct for any Chevrolet due to different bell housing,or for
any of the B/O/P A-bodies e.g., GTO, Skylark, etc.. If anyone is interested, we'll take the car for a quick spin so they can
assess the transmission's performance firsthand. If someone wants to buy, I would accept a deposit in exchange for a
sale commitment receipt that I will provide. I expect to pull the transmission by early October or sooner, at which time
we would arrange for pick-up and full remaining payment. The torque converter goes with it Note that the Hurst ProMatic 2 shifter pictured is also available as part of the deal, for the right price. I’m asking $650 because it’s a good
runner and needs nothing. I can be contacted at 457-6682, and I’m located in Liverpool.
