COURSE DESCRIPTION
The TNCC-I (Instructor course) is a one-day course designed to prepare providers to become TNCC
(Provider) instructors. The course emphasizes appropriate teaching strategies as well as correct
evaluation methods. The nurse must have successfully completed the TNCC Provider updated 7th
Edition course and be a current TNCC(P). The TNCCI emphasizes appropriate teaching strategies
as well as correct evaluation methods.
Learners will demonstrate their ability to lecture, teach, and evaluate selected psychomotor skill
stations when successfully completing the course including being evaluated presenting a "microteach" lecture assignment.
To conclude the verification process, an instructor candidate must be monitored in a Provider course
(two-days) within 12 months of completing the Instructor course by successfully be evaluated:
Presenting a lecture
Teaching one entire rotation of a psychomotor skill station.
Teaching the remaining skills stations to a simulated group
Testing one entire rotation of a station in the Provider Course.
PREREQUISITES
The registered nurse desiring to attend this TNCC Instructor Course must submit the following with
the registration form:

Current TNCC 7th ed card (Include copy of TNCC 7th ed Verification Card (not CEU
certificate)
Submit resume documenting two years of Emergency department/Trauma experience
Letter or signature from the course director that will assist you with completion of the
Instructor Candidate requirements.
Letter of recommendation indicating instructor potential from the TNCC course director from
your provider course
A letter of commitment expressing your commitment and interest in teaching future TNCC
courses.
ATTENTION: Participants (including bridgers) are required to reverify as providers by passing the
written exam with 90% and passing the skill stations w/ 85% or better and and be tested through the
Trauma Nursing Process skill station AT THE BEGINNING OF THE INSTRUCTOR COURSE
without any review. Therefore, Provider Testing will be conducted at 0700 on October 31, 2014.
Please be prepared to successfully pass the exam and stations. Participants who are not successful
in the provider status reverification will not be allowed to continue with the instructor course.
*NOTE* If you have attended a course and passed with the above scoring criteria within the last 90
days of the course date, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RETEST.
Please provide a copy of the Letter of Recommendation (with your test scores), provided to
you by the Course Director with your application.
If you are not successful with this re-verification, you will not be allowed to proceed with the
instructor course. No retests will be allowed on either the multiple-choice examination or skill
station testing No refunds will be issued at that point. Please come prepared to perform those skills
and take the test.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN IF A CANDIDATE IS UNSUCCESSFUL AT PROVIDER TESTING.
REGISTRATION
Course size is limited. Registration form, fee and above mentioned criteria must be received to
secure a roster position. Registration deadline is October 15, 2014. After all of the above items
have been received, and it has been determined you have met the criteria for the Instructor Course,
a schedule, microteach assignment and confirmation will be sent to you.
CANCELLATIONS
A refund minus $50 processing fee and the cost of the course manual ($50.00) will be granted for all
cancellations received one week prior to the course.

the American Nurses Credentialing Center’ Commission on Accreditation.
