Dear Parents/Caregivers
Term 4
Welcome back to school for the last 10 weeks of the 2014 academic year. It has
been so nice to be welcomed back so warmly by so many of our students. I’ve
been overwhelmed by the amount of children who have told me how happy and
excited they are to be back at school.
This will be an intense period for the school with many upcoming learning experiences and changes. In so far as
changes, this term will see us farewell 2 cohorts for the first and last time. Having 2 departing cohorts has been a
logistical challenge throughout the year, and will culminate on Friday December 12 with both groups graduating from
primary school.
Camp
Week 3, Monday October 27 through to Friday October 31, will see the Year 6 and 7 classes attending camp in
Busselton. Due to the double cohort, we are sending 6 teachers to support the camp instructors and ensure maximum participation and supervision. Mr Smith, Mr Godfrey, Mrs Williams, Miss Rafty, Miss Wall and I will all be at the
camp and look forward to spending a full week together with the children.
While on camp, Mrs Parker and Mr Hanlon will be in charge of the school, and I will also be contactable on my mobile 24/7.
ECU Students
This term sees us hosting 4 Professional Practice students completing their Assistant Teacher Program of the Graduate Diploma in Education course. Following completion of these practices, provided that they pass, they will graduate as teachers ready to teach in 2015. In Kindergarten we have Miss Herbert, TA 3 Ms Williams, TA 10 Miss Rafty
and TA 11 Miss Wall. I wish these student teachers well and know that the school community as a whole will make
them feel welcome.
IPS
The training regime for this initiative is back in full swing and Mrs Hill and I will be out at training for the next 2 Thursdays, being October 16 and 23.
Athletics
We’re now at the business end of the athletics season and have the jumping and throwing events on Wednesday
October 22 and the main carnival on Friday October 24. Both events are hosted and will take place at Mullaloo
Heights Primary School.
Whatever the result, I know that our students will give it their all and display impeccable sportsmanship.
Teachers Registration Board (TRB)
Congratulations to Mrs Felicity Thomas whose outstanding work at South Padbury PS has resulted in her gaining her
Full Teachers Registration with the TRB.

PRINCIPAL

our students in TA2. The assembly will commence at 8:45 am in the
undercover area.

SOUTH PADBURY PRIMARY SCHOOL
Congratulations to Year 3's from TA6 for the terrific display at the Royal Show in the
Pigeon and Poultry Pavilion. Whilst you didn't come home with a prize, your turkeys
looked sensational and were the first thing you saw as you walked into the pavilion. You
represented our school admirably and I was extremely proud of your efforts. Well done.
Mr Dillon.

sent home for you to see along with an order form.
The artwork can be turned into a whole range of useful products including – iPhone cases, iPad, iPod and iPad Mini
cases, a fabulous ready made Recipe book with your child’s art or a family photo on the front cover Greeting Cards,
Calendars, write on/wipe off Magnetic fridge planners, handy sized Diaries and for you to order.
These fundraising products are unique as they will feature artwork designed by your child or a family photo, and will provide a
lasting memento for you to give as a gift or keep for yourselves.
Artwork and order forms will go home together, please return all orders, payments and artwork by the date outlined on the
order form.
To place an order, please see the following:
