Welcome to the October edition of the WMA Newsletter. There are lots happening both at
the Pirates Tavern and at Seaworks leading up to Christmas.
Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 23 November 2014 at 12 Midday at The
Pirates Tavern. The bar will open immediately following the meeting along with a sausage
sizzle. Members will be entitled to a free sausage on production of their Members card.
Under the model rules all positions will be declared vacant and nominations and elections
will be undertaken. Nomination forms along with a Proxy Form are attached. If you are
interested in nominating please complete the forms as soon as possible and forward to
[email protected]. We are looking for people with some business acumen
along with an interest in Maritime History.
New Year’s Eve (NYE)
For those who attended last year’s NYE party will remember how good a night it was. We
are holding it again this year. We are currently working out the cost so stay tuned for the
details shortly. The band will be Ratlin’ Cane. Members may have already seen and enjoyed
their music.

Membership
If you haven’t renewed your Membership NOW is the time to do so. We have exciting music
and great nights coming up at The Pirates Tavern. You receive 10% of drinks, invites to
special events, Members nights with lots of prizes and free music at The Tavern.
Functions
We are now fully booked for Saturday night functions but if you want to hold a Christmas
breakup or small mini functions we can arrange to hold those and take the worry out of the
organising. Please call Wendy on 0403 702 734 for further information.
Coffee and Tea
Don’t forget we have Coffee and Tea at The Tavern. Sunday ambles down through Seaworks
and then stop for Coffee at The Tavern.
This Weekends Music Festival
The Pirates Tavern will be open as usual on Friday but there is no music. 3RRR will be
broadcasting live from The Tavern on Saturday. Members will be allowed into the Tavern via
the rear entrance but cannot enter the Music Festival unless paid for as this is a ticketed
event. Sunday is the Blurst Festival and again Members will be able to access the Tavern
from Ann Street. You will need to produce your Members card to gain access. Parking is
restricted.
Working Bee
Seaworks will be holding a working bee on site on the 25 th and 26th of October. There are
many tasks to be undertaken and we are looking for volunteers to assist. Jobs range from
painting, weed removal, rubbish cleanup, general cleanup, downpipe replacements to many
other small jobs. If anybody can spare some time on either or both these days your
assistance would be greatly appreciated. We will have a BBQ for the volunteers. If you can
help could you please email me on [email protected] with any relevant skills so
that we can allocate the most suitable job.
