A closure is now planned to commence from 27 October 2014 for up to 5 days. Dover Hill will be closed from the junction with Hill Road to where the road becomes New Dover Road, with no through access from Folkestone to Dover using this route. The alternative route for through traffic is via A260 Hill Road, Canterbury Road, White Horse Hill, A20 Trunk Road, Courtwood Interchange, B2011 Folkestone Road, New Dover Road and Dover Hill. Due to the nature of these works, it will not be possible to re-open the road outside the working hours. These works have been re-scheduled to be carried out during half term, when traffic levels are lower, and to reduce impact on school transport. MELON LANE, IVYCHURCH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2014 Because of phone cabling works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Melon Lane, Ivychurch, Romney Marsh. Melon Lane will be closed between Melon Farm and Golding Cottage, with no through access along Melon Lane. Off-peak closures are planned to commence from 3 November 2014 for up to 2 days, between 09:30 hours and 15:30 hours each day. The alternative route is via Ashford Road and Newchurch Lane. SWALE AREA ATTLEE WAY & NORTH STREET, SITTINGBOURNE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2014 Because of gas mains protection works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on sections of Attlee Way and North Street, Sittingbourne. Closures are planned to commence from 20 October 2014 for an estimated period of up to 3 weeks for each road, starting with Attlee Way. ATTLEE WAY will be closed between the junctions with North Street and Satis Avenue. The alternative route is via the remainder of Attlee Way, Grovehurst Road and North Street NORTH STREET will be then be closed between the junctions with Attlee Way and Hinde Close The alternative route is via Court Road, Regis Crescent, Langley Road, Saffron Way. Due to the nature of these works, it will not be possible to re-open the roads outside the working hours. CROWN ROAD, MILTON REGIS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2014 Because of carriageway resurfacing works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Crown Road, Milton Regis, Sittingbourne. Off-peak closures are planned to commence from Tuesday 21 October 2014 for up to 2 days between 09:30 hours and 15:30 hours each day. Crown Road will be closed between the junctions with Staplehurst Road and High Street. The alternative route is via B2006 St Paul’s Street, B2005 Mill Way, Saffron Way, North Street and High Street. A228 HOLBOROUGH ROAD, SNODLAND (CLOSURE OF LAY-BY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2014 Because it is necessary to construct a site access to enable the construction of a rail and river bridge, Kent County Council has made an Order to close the southbound lay-by opposite The Lodge on A228 Holborough Road, Snodland, on or after 20 October 2014 for up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. B245 LONDON ROAD, TONBRIDGE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2014 Because of carriageway resurfacing works, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on B245 London Road, Tonbridge, on or after 18 October 2014 from 19.00hrs to 12.00hrs 19 October 2014 or until the works have been completed. The road will be closed between Dry Hill Park Road and Dry Hill Road. The alternative route is via A227 Shipbourne Road and Dry Hill Park Road. TUNBRIDGE WELLS AREA WATER LANE, HAWKHURST (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2014 Because it is necessary to replace a BT Openreach cover and frame and build a concrete chamber to install poly duct in the carriageway, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Water Lane, Hawkhurst, on or after 20 October 2014 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed. The road will be closed from St Ronan’s School to Keeper’s Cottage. The alternative route is via A229 Hawkhurst Road/ Cranbrook Road and A268 Rye Road.
