Requirements for 2015 USEF/NAJYRC
Qualifying Competitions
Congratulations! One or more of your competitions have been approved as a 2015 NAJYRC and USEF Dressage National
Program Qualifying Competition. The approved calendar for all regions can be found on the USEF website here: Review
the calendar carefully for your competitions. If you see one of your applications missing from this list, please contact
Kristen Brett immediately (859) 225-6919 or [email protected].
In addition to USEF and USDF score reporting requirements, approved Qualifying competitions are REQUIRED to email these results to the USEF & USDF Dressage Departments ([email protected] / [email protected]) within forty-eight
(48) hours of the conclusion of your competition.
PRIZE LISTS AND QUALIFYING PERIODS: Qualifying Competitions must be acknowledged in the header of
the prize list in the following manner (please note sponsor changes from previous years!):
For approved Qualifying Competitions scheduled between January 1, 2015 and May 25, 2015:
“Official Qualifying Competition for the 2015 Adequan FEI North American Junior and Young Rider
Championships presented by Gotham North; the 2015 USEF Pony Rider Dressage National
Championship; 2015 AGCO/USEF Junior and Young Rider Dressage National Championships; and the
2015 USEF Young Adult ‘Brentina Cup’ Dressage National Championship. Official Qualifying
Competition for the 2015 Markel/USEF Young and Developing Horse Dressage Championships.”
For approved Qualifying Competitions scheduled between May 26, 2015 and June 23, 2015:
“Official Qualifying Competition for the 2015 Adequan FEI North American Junior and Young Rider
Championships presented by Gotham North. Official Qualifying Competition for the 2015 Markel/USEF
Young and Developing Horse Dressage Championships.”
For approved Qualifying Competitions scheduled between June 24, 2015 and July 27, 2015:
“Official Qualifying Competition for the 2015 Markel/USEF Young and Developing Horse Dressage
Championships. Official Qualifying Competition for the 2016 Adequan FEI North American Junior and
Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North; the 2016 USEF Pony Rider Dressage National
Championship; 2016 AGCO/USEF Junior and Young Rider Dressage National Championships; and the
2016 USEF Young Adult ‘Brentina Cup’ Dressage National Championship.”
For approved Qualifying Competitions scheduled between July 28, 2015 and December 31, 2015:
“Official Qualifying Competition for the 2016 Adequan FEI North American Junior and Young Rider
Championships presented by Gotham North; the 2016 USEF Pony Rider Dressage National
Championship; 2016 AGCO/USEF Junior and Young Rider Dressage National Championships; and the
2016 USEF Young Adult ‘Brentina Cup’ Dressage National Championship.”

In addition, here are some important reminders:
1. Level of Competition: Competitions approved as USEF/NAJYRC qualifiers are considered LEVEL 3 competitions.
A competition and all associated officials and staff must fully comply with the requirements of a Level 3 competition.
Please note – the Level 3 show cannot be immediately preceded by a show of a lower level (i.e. it is not permitted to
hold a Level 2 show on a Friday and then the qualifier on Saturday and Sunday).
2. Date/Location Changes: Approved dates reflect current license agreements on file with USEF. Any date or location
changes for a competition must immediately be noticed, in writing, to the USEF Dressage Department. Any change
in date or venue for an approved competition may affect qualifying status. Date and location changes will not be made
on the qualifying competitions calendar until the Dressage Committee has reviewed and approved the request.
3. Judges: A panel of at least two (2) FEI or USEF ‘S’ judges must officiate all FEI Young Rider Grand Prix 16-25
Tests; FEI Pony Tests; FEI Junior and Young Rider Tests; USEF Developing Horse Prix St. Georges Tests; USEF
Developing Horse Grand Prix Tests; and the FEI Young Horse Tests for Five and Six-Year-Olds (see DR126.1g1-7).
The Markel/USEF qualifying USEF Four-Year-Old Tests must be officiated by a panel of at least two judges, of
which one may optionally be a USEF “R” judge. The remaining judges must be USEF “S” and/or FEI judges.
For all FEI Young Horse Tests and the USEF Four-Year-Old Test, all judges assigned to these qualifying tests must
have USEF or FEI Young Horse Judging Designation. The designations are listed on the online rosters on the USEF
and FEI websites.
4. Licenses: All competitions must retain current and correct USEF licenses and USDF recognition. Competitions held
over the course of a weekend are considered one qualifying opportunity, even if they have separate license/recognition
numbers.
5. Test of Choice: NONE of these “qualifying” tests may be offered as part of a Test of Choice class.
6. Whips: USEF rules specify that whips are permitted for qualifying classes for these programs. However, FEI whip
rules supersede USEF rules at CDI competitions.
7. CDIs: In addition to the designated USEF/NAJYRC Qualifying Competitions, CDIs may also serve as qualifiers (see
the Selection Procedures).
8. Requirements: Designated qualifying competitions must comply with all of the above outlined requirements as well
as the USEF Dressage Rules and USEF General Rules which apply to these competitions. Failure to comply may
result in investigation, penalties and sanctions and will affect a competition’s future status as a qualifier. If you
determine that your competition is unable or unwilling to comply with the above requirements and would like to be
removed from the official qualifying competition list, contact the USEF offices immediately.
