Important notes to all participants:
Thank you for entering our Training Day. Please see the following points regarding the day.
* SCRATCHINGS - If you need to scratch before the day please let us know – it may allow us to add in
reserve riders or allow the judges to have some breaks. Please e-mail [email protected] or call or
text 0418 114 200.
* PARKING – Please be aware the car park can get quite full, please park right up to the timber guard rail to
allow a second row of floats behind and do not take up more than your fair space.
* WEATHER - To check for wet or hot weather cancellations please check the website for any
announcements 24 hours prior to the event.
* QUERIES – If you have any questions during the day please come and see a committee member at the
Front Office which is located near the fenced sand yard. We are happy to assist you with any queries.
* MEMBERSHIP – You must be either an EA member or a club member to ride at this event.
* RULES - The dressage and showjumping will be conducted in accordance with Equestrian Australia rules.
Dress regulations apply and Standard Safety Approved. A copy of the Rule Book for both Dressage and
Showjumping is available at the EA website and also at the front office on the day.
* DRESS – Appropriate approved equipment for both horse and rider must be worn at all times when either
mounted or handling a horse. A ‘training day’ is practice for the real competitions, so general EA rules still
apply. This includes approved bridles, saddles, helmets, boots and gloves.
For Training days riders do not need to wear jackets but must wear a collared shirt such as a polo shirt, no
singlets or sleeveless tops. Jodhpurs and saddle cloths should be white or beige. Plaiting is optional.
* WARM-UP ARENAS and LUNGING – If lungeing, please keep to the edges. When riding in the warm up
areas please be considerate to other riders and be aware that higher paces have right of way over lower
paces. If you are approaching and passing someone riding at the same pace the ‘left shoulder to left
shoulder’ rule applies. If standing or walking, please keep to the edge and not in the middle.
* GEAR CHECK & STARTING TIMES - All Competitors are required to present for a Gear Check prior to each
ride (minimum 10 minutes). The gear checkers will be located near the telegraph pole in the warm up area
for the dressage, and at the gate of the sand arena for the showjumping. Riders must be near the relevant
arena within 5 minutes prior to their dressage test time or showjumping class.
* HEALTH, HYGIENE AND SAFETY - All attendees should use their own feed bins and water buckets. Dogs are
not allowed to roam freely, we would prefer you leave your pets at home but if you must bring them please
keep them on a leash at all times. Horses can act unpredictably so children should be supervised by an adult
and should not be seen wandering on their own.
* DRESSAGE TEST SHEETS - Test sheets will be available at the completion of each test when scoring is
concluded and judges have signed them off. If you require a test to be posted to you, please leave $1.00 and
your name, address and tests details on an envelope at the Front Office.
* BRIDLE NUMBERS: Are not compulsory at training days, however if you intend to compete at Associate or
Official events you should apply to the EA for one and wear it on your bridle or saddle cloth.
* HELPERS – This day is run by volunteers and as such we ask all competitors to help. Please let us know if
you can assist with pencilling, scoring, gear checking, running, packing up or down and general helpers.
