We would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family
a very Merry Christmas! You hope that you each have a blessed
holiday and enjoy the time spent with family and friends.
COMING UP IN DECEMBER
Elf on the Shelf
Starting Monday, December
2nd, a friendly elf will be
visiting daily to watch over
us and report back to Santa.
If you have not heard of ‘Elf
on the Shelf’, please visit
our classroom website for
more information or
www.elfontheshelf.com
December will be a very busy month
in Kindergarten! Our students will
be busy little elves, preparing for our
Christmas Concert, learning about
Advent, attending a musical concert
at Jean Vanier, making Christmas
crafts and so much more!
This month we will begin working on
our letters to Santa. Santa has
promised to respond to each child’s
letter, which will hopefully be in the
last week of school.
In Science, the students have already
begun to wonder about and explore
the concept of states of matter.
They have been participating in
experiments to see what happens to
water at different temperatures.
Important Note
We are continuously humbled
and blessed by the
thoughtfulness of our students
and their families at Christmas
time. We truly appreciate being
thought of at this busy time of
year. Although we by no means
expect anything for Christmas,
we would like to ask that if you
would like to give us anything,
that it be something for the
students. Seeing the students
For math, we will be reviewing
everything we have learned this year
in our ‘Math Mania!!!’
This month we are introducing
‘The Adventures of Sock Monkey.’
Each weekend students will take
home our class Sock Monkey to
spend time with. Students will
write, draw or take pictures of their
time together and share it with the
class the following week. The Sock
Monkey is a great way to get
students writing about the events in
their live and sharing these events
with Sock Monkey orally. Please
check out our website to find out
more details.
happy is what makes us happy!
So, if there is an item and/or toy
that you know your own child
loves, I’m sure their peers would
enjoy it in the classroom as well
(for example; craft supplies, educational
games, teaching supplies etc.). Thank
