CSF bypass road
to ease traffic,
discourage criminality

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – By next year, a new
bypass road from the Jose Abad Santos Avenue
(JASA) leading to the city proper through Barangay
San Jose here will be opened not only to ease traffic but also to discourage criminality.
Mayor Edwin “Edsa” Santiago said some P50
million was earmarked for the two-lane, 500-meter
long bypass road which he calls “Tourism Evacuation Road” that will run parallel to the Balimbing
Creek.

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO –
“An edifice befitting the nobility
and integrity of the judiciary.”
Thus said Gov. Lilia G. Pineda as she beheld the new Regional Trial Court building at the
Capitol grounds here, even as
she expressed the “pride and
privilege of Pampanga” for its
construction.
The provincial government
allocated P43 million for the
new two-storey RTC building
that houses fully-furnished and
air-conditioned eight courtrooms
and 24 offices with 22 restrooms.
It was constructed in a span of
20 months by the provincial engineering office in coordination with
RTC Executive Judge Divina Luz
P. Aquino-Simbulan.
In her brief remarks at the inauguration of the RTC building
last week, Chief Justice Maria
Lourdes P.A. Sereno thanked the
Pineda administration for its dedicated support to the judicial system in putting up the edifice, as
well as in its efforts to help in the
speedy trial of cases, particularly

Fear over ASEAN integration
marks UN-World Food Day

Nations-declared World Food
Day with a warning that they
are not prepared to compete
with agricultural products expected to flood local markets
next year as part of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) integration that
would bring down tariff on agricultural imports.
“Economic liberalization,
particularly tariff and eco-tourism liberalization” under the
proposed ASEAN integration
would have dire impacts on the
still backward Philippine agriculture,” said Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) Chair
Rafael Mariano.
He expressed fear that
“land-grabbing, hunger, and
poverty would worsen under
the ASEAN integration’s full-
scale economic liberalization.
The ASEAN Integration is a
mockery of World Food Day.”
Mariano noted that “the reduction of the current 30-40
percent tariffs to five percent
up to the total removal of tariffs would flood the local market with highly-subsidized agricultural products of ASEAN
nations like Vietnam and Thailand.”
“While other ASEAN nations’ agricultural produce,
like the politically sensitive
rice are subsidized by their
governments, Filipino farmers suffer from the Aquino
government’s lack of support.
We shoulder the skyrocketing
costs of production, and high
land rent, among others. In
fact, agricultural funds are being plundered en masse under
the Aquino regime’s continuing pork barrel system,” Mariano said.
“Our local produce is helpless from the flooding of imported agricultural produce,”
he added.
He also warned of “rampant conversion of agricultural
lands and coastal communities
with the proposed eco-tourism
liberalization.”
“Tens of thousands of farmers have already been displaced by the Aquino government’s eco-tourism projects,”
Mariano said. He cited the
case of farmers and fishers in
Hacienda Looc in Nasugbu,
Batangas which is being developed into the Hamilo Coast
tourism project and farmers in
Hacienda Dolores in Porac,
Pampanga which is being developed into the Alviera green
housing estates.
Mariano said the country’s
participation to the ASEAN integration would lead to the proliferation of “anomalous and
graft-ridden projects.” He cited
the Metro Rail Transit-7 project from North Avenue EDSA
up to San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan awarded by the Aquino
administration to presidential
uncle, Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco Jr’s. San Miguel Corporation.
The KMP said the US as
among the main beneficiary of
the ASEAN integration. “The
plan would pave the way for
a bigger and wider economic liberalization agreement,
the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) being
pushed by the US,” he noted.
“The Filipino people must
oppose the sell-out of the
country’s national patrimony
and sovereignty through the
Aquino government’s participation to the proposed ASEAN Integration tantamount to
a gateway to the US-instigated TPPA,” Mariano said.

ANGELES CITY – The 11th
Open Bonsai Competition
and Exhibition with the
theme: “Breaking Boundaries, Building Friendship
through Bonsai,” was held
recently at the Marquee
Mall here.
The bonsai competition,
organized by the Kapampangan Horticulture and
Bonsai Society (KHBS)
and held Oct. 10-12, was
part of the month-long celebration of Fiestang Kuliat.
Some 70 bonsai enthusiasts from the cities of Mabalacat, San Fernando and
this city, as well as Porac
and Sta. Rita in Pampanga
and other Central Luzon
towns joined the competition. It was divided into different categories according to style, size and flower
category.
According to the KHBS
President Averell Laquindanum, the competition
and exhibit aim to showcase the talent of Kapampangans in terms of arts
and horticulture.
“Kapampangans can do
better than China and Japan in terms of arts and horticulture, although bonsai art

Gov. Lilia G. Pineda distributed at least
P1,945,000 educational financial assistance
to 778 college students – receiving P2,500
each – from the 2nd District of Pampanga.
Pineda said the provincial government Is
duty bound to support the poor but deserving
Kapampangan students to alleviate their
marginalized condition through helping
them finish their college education. A total of 9,282 indigent cabalens who
are not enrolled in the Philippine Health
Insurance Corp. directly benefited from
the Point of Care (POC) program of Gov.
Pineda as of October 2.
At least P20 million has been allocated and
approved by the sangguniang panlalawigan
for the payment of PhilHealth’s premium
under the POC program which will avail
the poorest of the poor proper health care
services.
The Pineda administration completed
about P200 million worth of various
infrastructure projects across the province
from January to October this year.
Foremost of these is the P43-million
Regional Trial Court building inaugurated
recently by the governor and Supreme Court
Chief Justice Maria Lourdes P.A. Sereno.
Roads, hospitals and other government
buildings, bridges and schoolbuildings,
among others make up for the rest.
Quarry revenues hit over P1.2 billion
following the collections of the provincial
government amounting to P273,920,000
from January to October 14 alone.
Gov. Pineda has expressed hope that
before her second term ends in June 2016,
the province’s revenues from sand quarrying
will breach P1.6 billion.
Yeah, just the usual week with the Pineda
administration.
The extraordinary – in accomplishments,

Bedazzled, bothered
IT MADE its Hollywood debut in 1993, holding its own stellar right in a Tinseltown
already bedazzled by Liam Neeson in Schindler’s List, Tom Hanks and Denzel
Washington in Philadelphia, Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire, and the very young
Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio in their breakout film What’s Eating Gilbert
Grape.
A year earlier, it was the toast at the
World Expo in Spain. Its kaleidoscope of
dancing lights and colors rousing Vivas! and
Oles! from the dons and donas of the Iberian
peninsula.
In Austria, it added up to the magnificence
of the Stadtturm in Innsbruck; permeated the
Rathausplatz Christkindlmarkt in Vienna with
the Filipino spirit of Christmas; and became
an object of curious wonder at the Ethnology
Museum also in Vienna.
It brought Yuletide joy to the Lord Mayor’s
House in Dublin, Ireland.
It was the star of hope, love and joy that
welcomed homesick Filipinos to the Good
Shepherd Cathedral in Singapore. It has become the seasonal motif, indeed
the distinguishing seal, in Philippine embassies
and consulates in Canada, Russia, Poland,
Thailand, Malaysia and the United States.
In New York, it mesmerized the cosmopolitan
crowd of Fifth Avenue when it was exhibited
at the Philippine Center. In San Francisco, it
became one unifying factor for Fil-Ams when
it was displayed at the main entrance of the
St. Patrick’s Church, even as it spawned a
Ligligan Parul around the SoMa area, initiated
by community organizer MC Canlas, a native of
San Fernando.
Last year, it made history as the first-ever
Asian (outside China) entry in the exclusivist
and revered Xiamen Lantern Festival.
Last year too, it drew crowds to the 2nd Annual
Parol Festival in Honolulu, Hawaii where Vice
Mayor Jimmy Lazatin defined the “message of
hope that the lanterns of San Fernando bring to
Filipinos here and abroad”
It has been all around the globe. All around
the country too, from the main avenues of
Davao City to Manila’s Roxas Boulevard to the
Cultural Center of the Philippines.
It has put the City of San Fernando in the
world map as, in the words of CNN, “Asia’s
Christmas capital.”
It is the signature craft and product of the
capital city. Indeed, its officially registered
OTOP (one town, one product).
As well, the core of its biggest fiesta and
annual extravaganza – the Giant Lantern
Festival, which was awarded as the first runnerup for Best Tourism Event in the Philippines at
the recent 10th Pearl Awards in Bacolod City
organized by the Association of Tourism Officers
of the Philippines (ATOP) and the Department
of Tourism.
So much has the parul sampernando done
for the city and its citizens.
But for the perfunctory paeans like this piece
and the obligatory laudations from the local
officials at every launch of the annual lantern
festival, where has the parul sampernandu
gone?
It has made its presence everywhere –
around the globe, around the country – but has
vanished from home altogether.
The Parul Sampernandu (as proper noun
now in keeping with the event) makes its
presence only in the Giant Lantern Festival.
Its smaller actual edition maybe in some little
corner of a lantern craftsman’s workshop in the
flood-prone areas of Barangay Del Pilar.
Search all those roadside lantern stalls,
whether makeshift or concrete – and despair:
They have only flashing LED lights in transparent
plastic cables, shaped into stars, flowers,
Santa and his reindeer, Christmas trees, even
helicopters. But no parul sampernandu – as
we know it: alambre frame covered with colored
papel de japon or thin plastic fabric, its price
dependent on the number of bulbs and the
variety of “plays.”
This is a sad commentary of the times.
We persist in celebrating a tradition, yet,
unmindful of its dying. As we are bedazzled by
the brilliance of the giant lanterns, so must be
moreso be bothered by the fast disappearance
of the parul sampernandu from our city.
The annual Giant lantern Festival is not all
there is to the parul sampernandu, There is
the greater need of its preservation as craft,
as product, for the Fernandinos. Thereby
its continuity – for generations to come – as
cultural icon, as the very symbol, aye, the very
soul, of the city.

inaugurated at the Manila
Grand Opera House.
The event was attended
both by US Secretary of War
William Howard Taft and
the new Governor-General
James Francis Smith.
William Howard Taft was
the first civilian governor
(Civil Governor) of the Philippines. The title “Civil Gov-
ernor” was changed to “Governor-General” by Act of US
Congress in 1905.
After its inauguration,
the Assembly convened and
was led by Sergio Osmeña
as Speaker and Manuel L.
Quezon as Majory Floor
Leader, later to become the
Vice President and President, respectively, of the
new Filipino Commonwealth
government in 1935. Upon
the creation of the Assembly, Philippine legislature
was to take after the model
of the U.S. House of Representatives.
The Assembly was the
lower house of Philippine
Legislature. The Philippine
Commission was transitioned into the upper house.
Elections for members
the first national assembly
were held on July 30, 1907.

kailangang environment na
kailangang ibigay,” CJ Sereno
said.
This, even as she gave
the assurance “that our judiciary will remain fair and independent and we will be active
partners of the people and the
government in the administration of justice.”
Right at the start of her first
term, Pineda initiated the formation of a group of volunteer lawyers to review pending
cases of those detained at the
provincial jail, giving emphasis
to minor ones towards the facilitation of their disposition.
Under Pineda too, the provincial jail underwent so thorough a make-over that its exterior now looks more of a hotel than a prison, and its interiors, particularly its dormitories
easing the living conditions of
the detainees.
Livelihood programs for
the detainees and the families
they left behind were also instituted by Pineda, as well as
the provision of scholarships
to their children who met certain qualification standards.
In her speech following the
blessing of the RTC building
officiated by Archbishop Emeritus Paciano B. Aniceto of San
Fernando, the governor expressed high hopes that “the
new edifice will help build on
the strength of the good standing and record of the courts
and pave the way for court
personnel to discharge their
responsibilities more efficiently and effectively thus making the wheels of justice move
faster and further” as this “will
redound to the greater benefit and uplift of our justice system.”
The governor also assured
the RTC judges and personnel
that the provincial government
will remain supportive to their
concerns and “provide the
kind of environment essential
to the delivery of a responsive
justice system.”
Pineda likewise paid tribute to the High Court saying:
“Indeed, our Supreme Court
Justices and other Supreme
Court Officials are the embodiment of judicial excellence and
fairness, the vigilant protectors
of the rights of the people and
the faithful guardians of our
Constitution.”
Remarks that drew a loud
ovation and reflected in the
glow on the faces of
CJ Sereno and her party that included SC Associate
Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe, Court Administrator Jose
Midas Marquez, Deputy Court
Administrators Raul Villanueva, Jenny Lind Delorino and
Thelma Bahia, former Associate Justice Roberto Abad,
Chancellor Adolfo Azcuna,
Atty. Marina Buzon, Assistant
Court Administrator and SC
Spokesperson Atty. Theodore
Te, and Atty. Carolyn Mercado.
Pineda furthered her laudation of the SC justices “for their
firm and fearless advocacy
of the rule of law, their sense
of cold impartiality and moral
courage in rendering just and
well-grounded decisions.”
“Principled actions,” she
said, “that reflect in many
ways the achievements of
judges and prosecutors in the
province who inspire the faith
and strengthen the confidence
of the public in the country’s judicial system.”

the “pride of place” already attached to the new RTC building not only among the eight
judges and 120 court employees but also all those covered
by the justice system.
This, as she reiterated their
commitment “to work with utmost integrity in the just and
speedy disposition of cases.”
As well as the judges and
the court employees who were
one in praising the Pineda administration for the new RTC
building, were the local lawyers.
One veteran defense attorney, who requested for anonymity “lest (he) be accused of
ingratiating himself in the good
graces of the governor,” said
the new RTC building “opened
up a new era in the administration of justice not only in Pampanga but in the rest of the
country.”
“An environment most conducive to reason, given the
personal comfort and convenience, obtains now in the
courtrooms,” he said, noting
how the “old, crowded, oven-hot salas clouded the very
thinking of court protagonists,
impairing to a degree the rendering of the soundest judgment.”
For his part, Atty. Peter
Paul Maglalang, president of
the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Pampanga Chapter,
expressed the lawyers’ collective gratitude to Gov. Pineda
for “finally, (having) a modern
and presentable Hall of Justice for RTCs” which he hoped
“will pave the way for the improvement of the administration of justice.”
Another lawyer, uncharacteristically frugal with words,
merely pointed to the marker at
the entrance of the new RTC
building as reflective of his
sentiments. It reads: “…(D)edicated to those who seek, dispense and believe in justice.”

All set for giant lantern fest on Dec. 13
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO –
All is set for the annual Giant
Lantern Festival (GLF) or “Ligligan Parul” on December 13.
The Giant Lantern Festival Foundation (GLFF) and
the GLF Executive Committee chaired by Alfrito “Bong”
Mah and Maria Theresa Laus
respectively, launched this
year’s event on Wednesday at
the Robinsons Starmills here
with the symbolic lighting of a
multi-colored Christmas lantern.
The GLFF and the GLF
also signed a memorandum
of agreement with officials of
Robinsons Starmills for again
hosting this year’s festival.
“This year’s festival will be
unique,” assured Laus without
going into the details since 10
barangays will be participating.
“We are very thankful for
the support for this year’s
event,” she added.
Robinsons Starmills has
hosted the GLF or Ligligan
Parul for the seventh year after it started hosting the festival in 2008.
Robinsons Land Corpora-
tion also gave an assistance of
P2.426 million for the world-renowned competition of Christmas lights and music.
The participating barangays for this year’s event include barangays San Jose,
Calulut, Sto. Nino, Sta. Lucia,
San Nicolas, Del Pilar, Dolores, San Juan, Del Carmen
and champion Telabastagan.
Each of the competing barangays were given P170,000
subsidy from the city government to help in the creation of
the famous lanterns.
A giant lantern measuring
up to 20 feet in diameter with
more than 10,000 bulbs could
cost as much as P500,000.
Meanwhile, Mayor Edwin
Santiago said the city government is throwing its full support to the lantern makers because their craft has created
the famous symbol of the city
and Pampanga province.
The GLF has become an
annual festival held in December in this city. The popularity of the festival has earned
the province the nickname
“Christmas Capital of the Philippines.”
The December 13 GLF will

Israeli envoy eyes coalition for advanced agri technology

agro-economy in different localities in the country.
That’s what Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Ephraim Ben Matityau
sees as he banks on Israeli-trained Filipino students,
and there are now a thousand of them, charting the
process in doing it.
“We are about to galvanize them into a coalition for
advanced agricultural technology,” Matityau said in an
interview here recently.
He was at Barangay Magtanggol here for the closing
activities of 40 Israeli students
who embarked on a ten-day
humanitarian mission at the village’s public integrated school.
He personally thanked
Mayor Nestor Alvarez, and
the other officials here and
the provincial police, for helping the student’s carry out their
mission successfully.
The ambassador said his
government trained last year
570 students from different
universities in the country, and
is currently training 440 more,
through a “learning-by-doing”
system in Israel. The training,
he said, is for 11 months.
“Based on the success
shown by the student-trainees, we are sure that they
can now lead in pursuing an
adaptive, creative, innovative,
and entrepreneurial process
of helping improved the farmers’ agro-economic pursuits in
their respective communities,”
Matityau said.
The ambassador, who was
former deputy head of Mashav
which is Israeli’s agency for
international development cooperation in developing countries, said he has done partnering activities in the country
for the formation of the coalition of the trained students.
He said that with the help
of the Commission on Higher
Education, he has talked with
university presidents in the different parts of the country for
the “modeling” projects of the
trained students in agricultural
technologies.
“We have high hopes for
the trainees to become leaders of change in agro-economy in their respective regions,” the ambassador said.
“They have been trained to
open their minds and eyes for
new ideas in innovation, academics, entrepreneurship, and
creativity for the application of
adaptive technologies.”

military activities of the
armed forces of the USA
and the Philippines,”
KPD noted.
The group lamented
that while the Philippine
National Police (PNP)
has filed murder charge
against Pemberton, “this
would not compel the
US to transfer custody of
Pemberton to the Philippines.”
The KPD called for
vigilance, as it expressed
fear that “the handling of
Pemberton’s case could
fall in the same way of
US Marine Lance Corporal Daniel Smith who
was accused of raping
Suzette ‘Nicole’ Nicolas
in 2005.”
“Smith was convicted
and was imprisoned for
a few days in the Makati City Jail. He was taken
away by US authorities
and kept inside the US
embassy until his case
was settled after Nicole
allegedly retracted,” the
group recalled.
“The crime committed by Pemberton is heinous but its dimension
is beyond itself. The real
big issues are the VFA
and Philippine jurisdiction, that is, sovereignty
over a US soldier who
committed crime in the
country. The earlier case
of Lance Cpl. Smith confirmed Philippine jurisdiction and sovereignty
is not guaranteed by the
VFA,” KPD stressed.
KPD noted that “the
USA is the number one
military and economic power in the world.

the city government is seriously looking into the illegal drugs problem in the
city. He admitted that only
eight barangays out of 35
remained “drug free.”
But as of last month,
53 suspects were arrested in connection with
the relentless campaign
against illegal drugs, according to chief of police,
Supt. Rechie Duldulao.
She said as part of
the campaign, Bantay
Bayans (village watchmen) will be subjected
to random drug tests that
will be conducted by the
PNP crime laboratory.
“Peace and order is
everybody’s
concern,”
Duldulao said as she enjoined village officials to
immediately report any
suspicious looking characters in their areas.
She told the media
that there are no “vigilante killings” and blamed rival criminal gangs in the
killing of suspected drug
pushers in the city.
Duldulao said despite
the number of arrests in
connection with illegal
drugs as of September,
still the menace seemed
to be on the decline as
compared to the same
period last year.
Meanwhile, Santiago
said to augment the police force now only numbering to 100 policemen
in the city of 285,000, the
city government is offering full scholarship grants
to students who want to
take up criminology and
other essential courses.
The mayor said as of
now, some 2,300 scholars taking up various
essential courses in the
City College of San Fernando and other schools
are being subsidized by
the city government.

The petitioners-spouses are mentally fit to adopt; they are financially capable to
support the minor sought to be adopted; they are earning lucrative income from
their employment in Dubai, U.A.E.; they have savings in banks, motor vehicles
and real properties; they have no derogatory records; and they are persons
of good moral character. They have undergone Pre-Adoption counseling as
well as the Home and Child Study interviews. This adoption will serve the best
interest and well-being of the minor child sought to be adopted.

sets it for hearing on March 26, 2015 at 9:00 in the morning, on which date and

Ayon kay Boy, importante ang communication between parents and their children. Importante rin daw na makinig ang mga magulang sa kanilang mga anak.
Nagbahagi naman si Kris ng opinyon ng kanyang anak na si Bimby tungkol sa kanyang love life.
Kwento ni Kris, sinabi diumano ni Bimby kay Bianca Gonzales na ayaw niyang magka-boyfriend ang mommy niya dahil aniya “I want to spare her from another
heartache.”
Giit ni Kris, “When you listen to your kids, they will listen to you.”
Bilib diumano si Kris kay Matteo dahil sinasabi nito na, “na-instill ang tamang values kay
Sarah, and he’s living with that.”
Ayon kay Boy, katulad ni Matteo at Sarah, “Boyfriends and girlfriends should start talking
about sex.”
Dagdag naman ni Kris, “May responsibilidad na kasama ang sex hindi puro sarap
lang,”
Hanga rin ang dalawa kay Matteo dahil bukal ito sa malinis na intensyon nito kay Sarah.
“I want her to be my last,” sabi pa ni Matteo.

Balik sa Kapuso Network ang aktor na si James Blanco pagkatapos ng siyam
na taong nawala sa nasabing istasyon.
“Well, ang sarap ng pakiramdam na narito ulit ako sa GMA 7,” bungad
ni James sa amin sa press launch ng afternoon prime nilang “YAGIT”
kamakailan sa Studio 6 ng GMA Network.
“Alam kong kahit papano ano…na-taken for granted ko
sila when i made my decision na makipagtrabaho naman
sa ibang networks. Pero maayos naman ang pag-uusap
namin kaya pinayagan nila ‘ko kaya wala akong
pinagsisihan,” katuwiran pa nito.
“I would say na may mga pagkukulang ako sa
kanila. But now na narito na uli ako I’m pretty sure na
pagbubutihin ko na ang pakikipagtrabaho sa kanila.
Wala na lang comparison sa mga nakatrabaho ko
sa Kapamilya at Kapatid networks,” sabi pa rin ni
James na ang tinutukoy ay ang TV5 & ABS-CBN 2.
Matagal ding hindi napapanood sa madramang palabas ang
hunk actor dahil matapos mawalang lahat sa ere ang mga programa niya sa
Singko at Dos ay nag-concentrate muna sa sarili niyang business ang guwapo pa

80’s na regular napapanood sa Siete na kanilang ibinabalik at inilalapit muli sa
televiewers kung saan mahalaga ang papel ng bidang si James.
“Totoong kuwento kasi ito ng mga nakikita nating street children or mga
batang pagala-gala. Sabi nga nila ‘yung mga palaboy-laboy kung saan-saan.
Gaya ng mga nakatira sa tabi ng riles ng tren.”
“Parang hindi nga kami umaarte sa taping namin na madalas ang set ay sa
Pandacan Manila. Natural na natural kasi lahat. Lalo na ‘yung mga baguhang
bata na nakuha para sa palabas naming ‘to. Ang gagaling talaga. Tapos ang
direktor pa namin ay isang magaling na aktres na si Direk Gina Alajar. Kaya sure
kaming makaaasa ang televiewers na mai-enjoy nila ang panonood ng “Yagit” na
mag-i-start nang umere sa telebisyon,” pagmamalaki pa ni James.
Wala pa ring pagbabago sa lakas ng sex appeal, kaguwa-puhan at magandang
built ng pangangatawan ng aktor. Yummy’ng-yummy pa rin nga siyang matatawag
kaya kayang-kaya pa rin niyang makipagsabayan sa hanay ng hunk actors ngayon.
Lalo na ‘yung mga walang takot na naghuhubad at nakikipaglampungan o halikan sa
kapwa nila lalaki sa indie films na siyang trending ngayon sa local showbiz.
“Siguro if there’s an offer for me na gano’n…baka hindi ko tanggapin. Pero hindi ko
naman minamaliit ‘yung mga lumalabas sa ganu’ng movie. Kanya-kanya lang siguro
ng linya ‘yan. For me…hindi ko yata linya ang ganu’ng klase ng pelikula,” lahad pa nito.
“Lalo pa ngayon na malalaki na ‘yung tatlong anak namin ng wife ko. Ayokong
mapanood nila once na tumanggap ako ng gano’n di ba? Ano na lang ang sasabihin nila
sa akin? So, kuntento na’ko sa ganito ‘yung may magandang offer na tv project like ito
ngang “YAGIT”. Okey naman at natutuwa ako na binigyan ulit ako ng chance ng Kapuso,”
masayang pagtatapos pa ni James sa aming panayam.

University Senior AB Communication
students was brought to a successful
conclusion with a follow-up event on
October 11, 2014 at the Museo Ning
Angeles.
A charity Photo booth sponsored
by National Art Studio has served as
the medium for donation for the street
children in Bale Anghel, in support to
Hygiene Awareness.
The event ran from 6pm to 8pm,
met a favorable outcome, with approximately two hundred people coming
over at the photo booth. A street jam
performance was also put up by the
seniors themselves to hype up the evening with a little music entertainment.
Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan, who attended the event,
paid a visit at the photo booth joining
a group of HAU students as they had
their photos taken.
The proceeds of the event were
used to buy 50 hygiene kits as well as
other goodies for the children at Bale
Anghel which were personally handed
to them in a half-day-long program organized by the students.
The event welcomed sixteen children into a program of fun story-telling
and film-watching segments, and exciting games that brought to light and
demonstrated the value of hygiene in
the personal and the social context; in
which everyone participated merrily.
A set of awards have been presented to the Most Well-Behaved,
Most Well-Groomed and Most Bibo;
and special gifts and goodies including the clean kit were also given out
to all the kids.
The volunteers, together with the
children of Bale Anghel were very
grateful to all those who came and
supported the photo booth. Because
of your donations, your smiles are
now on the faces of the little angels of

CAPA names CebPac Best Low-Cost Carrier in Asia-Pacific
Leading aviation think tank, Centre for Aviation
(CAPA) recognized Cebu Pacific Air (PSE:CEB) as
the Asia-Pacific Low-Cost Carrier (LCC) of the Year,
during the recently concluded CAPA Aviation Awards
for Excellence in Singapore.
“Our LCC of the Year has endured a tumultuous
period in its home market, but maintained its focus
and had the highest operating profit margin in the
Asian airline industry,” said CAPA Executive Chairman Peter Harbison.
“The carrier has launched a long-haul operation
which strategically improves its long-term position by
opening up new markets, while quickly responding to
the challenges in this segment,” he added.
This year, CEB launched four new long-haul destinations: Dammam, Riyadh, Kuwait and Sydney, and
took delivery of four brand-new Airbus A330 aircraft.
It currently operates flights to 62 destinations on
90 routes, utilizing a fleet of 51 aircraft which is one of
